I’ve been using Shopify since 2018. I’ve seen lots of updates and improvements, but Admin > Collections is basically the same as it was 6 years ago…
My points are coming from running a large catalog store, where collections play a crucial role in sales, and we have lots of them…

Manual collections are the most frustrating – it has a search, but you need to manually select 100+ results.
- It would be great if we could have a “select all results” button. Merchants could also unselect a few if they want.

Not being able to switch from Manual to Smart and vice versa is another frustration – you need to delete the collection, copy the handle, create it again, preserve the handle, and add it again in the Theme editor and Menus.

Views – While products have so many options to create views, Collections have none (Type and Sales channel don’t count). When you have 200+ Collections, you need some type of management there…
- Having something like Metafields to create collection views would be great…
These are my points about Admin > Collections. It would be awesome if someone from Shopify could read this and deliver it to the right team. These small improvements would help me and other merchants a lot.
