Shopify admin UX & other changes

I logged in to work this Monday morning to find yet another horrible admin change from the wonderful developers at Shopify. I have to ask, WHY is it that you apparently hate us?

The UX of the collection pages has changed is now HORRIBLE. Shopify keeps making these horrible decisions and changing things for the worse.

The collection page is now mostly made up of product cards. Useless! That doesn’t reflect how these pages are actually used by people who have to work in Shopify day in and day out. The most important part of the page–the designations that make up the collection (tag includes x, category equals x) is now a tiny little portion of the page and instead of each being on one line, they all run onto multiple lines because they’ve made that section so small. It’s hard to read and work with. WHY do you keep ruining our workspaces?

This is on top of other recent changes that have made the admin more and more useless. Like how you can no longer filter by the actual categories of products. I submitted a support ticket because I thought that surely this must be some kind of bug. Nope. The category filter option is there, it just has nothing to do with the categories of your products anymore.

Also, the channels that are shown used to be the same channels you would set for the product to be published to. Now the channel count now ALSO includes the markets they are published in too. Making that number useless to even show in the admin.

Shopify, I’m really at my wits end with these nonsense changes that make my work and my team’s work harder and harder.

Even this discussion UX has been changed for the worse as it’s no longer it’s own page but this stupid little pop up. Whoever is making these decisions, please hire someone else!!!

Hey @E_W1

hope you are doing well!

I understand your frustration. It may be helpful to submit this as detailed product feedback through Shopify Support or the official feedback channels, as specific examples of how these UI changes impact daily workflows can be valuable for the product team.

Thanks @Custom-Cursor. I tried that but the support person I chatted with told me all I could do was post it here.

@E_W1 ,
You are definitely not alone in feeling this way. UI changes should make common workflows faster not require more clicks or make important information harder to find. Hopefully Shopify takes this feedback into account and offers more flexibility or at least gives merchants the option to switch between different admin views based on how they work.

Also, you can no longer include or exclude products based on compare at prices! I can’t believe Shopify. These changes are so stupid.
