Hello, I am having problems when my customers want to pay for the items in my shopify store, despite having shopify payments activated with stripe as payment gateway chosen at the time of placing the card to use my customers, the platform throws a message that your card was declined and can not be used, this happens with all cards accepted by this gateway, can you give me support please?

Hi @EduardoMal19
Thanks for reaching out.
It sounds like you are experiencing some issues with accepting payments in your store checkout. I’d be happy to help you troubleshoot this.
You mentioned that you have Shopify Payments activated, with Stripe as a payment gateway. To clarify, Shopify Payments and Stripe are two different payment gateways on Shopify. If you navigate to the Settings > Payments section of your admin, can you confirm what payment provider you see activated there?
If Shopify Payments has been added to your store, then it’s important to verify that it has been set up correctly, and that there is no outstanding information or other requirements that haven’t been met. If there are problems with your Shopify Payments account, you should see error messages or warnings either in your Shopify admin home section, or in the Payments section of your settings. You may also have received an email, so it’s worth checking your inbox including spam folders. If there’s any missing information or if your Shopify Payments account requires further verification such as by submitting documents, then you may not be able to accept payments until this is completed.
If you are using Stripe, then I would suggest checking your Stripe account. Stripe is an external platform to Shopify, so you will need to log in to your Stripe account and ensure that your account looks OK and there are no outstanding issues that might be causing payments to fail. If there’s any missing information or your account requires further verification, Stripe may reject payments on your store.
Is it possible that the payment information being entered by the customer is incorrect? If this is happening with a specific customer or group of customers, then having them check in with their bank to confirm that there are no restrictions on their card would be a good idea. Their bank can confirm that all looks OK and there are no problems with their account. You can also try completing a test transaction yourself by putting the payment gateway in test mode.
Feel free to reply here with more information about your situation and let me know if you tried the above steps.
Hi, reviewing the information I get from shopify and stripe as my chosen payment gateway, it sends me a message saying that my account cannot accept payments with the customer’s currency, how can I charge multiple currencies with the same bank account?
Hi @EduardoMal19
Thanks for getting back to let me know.
Some payment gateways, such as PayPal and Shopify Payments, offer multi-currency support. This means that you can accept payments in multiple currencies without having to set up separate bank accounts etc. However, you do still need to pay currency conversion fees or other fees associated with accepting payments in different currencies.
As you are using Stripe on your store, I wouldn’t be able to say for sure why it is not allowing you to accept multiple currencies, as this gateway is third-party and external to us. I would recommend reaching out to Stripe support directly, as they will be the best equipped to help in this situation.
Can you confirm what your store currency is set to, and the region where your store is located? Have you been able to get the Stripe gateway to process payments with any other currencies, such as your store’s native currency?
