We are a store that has been in operation for nearly 6 years and recently set up Shopify Payment using our LLC. The information provided is accurate. However, after the setup process was completed, they reported that the EIN could not be verified. I proceeded to re-enter this information. The same issue occurred for the second time, and I repeated the same steps as the first time.
On the third attempt, they informed me that they were unable to verify my EIN, and I could no longer update the information. They advised me to contact the Support department for further assistance.
However, the ironic situation here is that my customers continue to make payments smoothly through Shopify Payment gateway, but all funds are held back without a Payout Date. What’s even more amusing is that despite numerous attempts to reach out to the Support team, the responses received are generic and unhelpful, along the lines of “We have received your case, escalated it to the Verification team, etc.” But ALL efforts have been in vain, and the funds from all orders remain withheld. I am unsure when they will be released and whether I should fulfill these orders.
To all Shopify support team members, please refrain from providing vague responses. If you do not have the authority to share information, kindly involve someone who does. Numerous sellers have encountered similar issues. When customers have paid for their purchases, withholding that amount without clear justification is concerning. It is imperative that authorized personnel address these concerns to ensure transparency and trust. Customers have paid for the purchase, you keep our money with unclear reasons, you are the BIG SCAMMER, not us - sellers.
We require a response from Shopify’s “back-team” individuals with sufficient authority who have remained silent. What are you using our money for?
Shopify Payments itself is not a scam; it is a legitimate payment processing service integrated with the Shopify platform. However, issues can arise, such as account holds or delays in payouts, which can be frustrating.
