For over a month now my Shopify Payments have been suspended and all payments have been on hold.
I have contacted Shopify via live chat on 5 occasions - and on all 5 occasions I have been told that it is simply a routine check and the reason for the delay is that they’re busy. I was also told all 5 times that I’d receive an update via email shortly, however i haven’t had a single email. The last time I went onto live chat, I was told my issue had been forwarded to someone higher up, and the restriction would be lifted that same day - 4 days later and i’m in the same position.
Because of this, we are having to dispatch orders using our own funds without getting the sale money back - this has caused our business to go into debt and incur interest fees. We have also had to delay the scaling of our business due to lack of funds. In addition to this, this business is how i make a living, and this situation has placed a ton of stress on me and also affected my personal financial situation.
As far as i can see, government guidelines say such processes should be done within a reasonable timeframe. Over a month of no communication is not within a reasonable timeframe.
I have just sent an email to Shopify Payments, informing them that if the situation isn’t resolved within the next 24 hours, we will be launching an official complaint to the BBB and the GA - we are deadly serious about this. Yes a 24 hour timeframe seems short, but what must be understood is i have reminded them multiple times over the last month and theres no evidence to suggest the situation is progressing any time soon.
I have also been assured that theres nothing wrong with my store, im not being punished, and my store wont be ‘deleted’
Has anyone else had this issue? Did they manage to solve it, and if so how? If not, what happened?
