Does anyone out there have any tips or suggestions dealing with Icann or a domain lawyer? I contacted shopify support over a week ago, and they told me the account was ‘on hold’ (though its shut down), and that they would be getting in touch within 72 hours. It’s been over a week and I’ve heard nothing, and all my facebook sales and associated customers are now seeing a shut down store and wanting their money back. I’ve worked years to get my store where it is today, in preparation for this coming black friday, and now I can’t even transfer my domain away from Shopify, to a new WooCommerce store. If shopify doens’t want to host my store, that’s fine, but at least release my domain name. I didn’t think I could be facing a legal battle!
I am getting ready to proceed filing an Icann case, but wanted to find out if anyone else had any tips or referrals I could use? Has anyone else gotten their domain back promptly, or did they have to hire legal help? My blood sweat and tears went into creating this shop with over 50,000 products, but now it’s all going to be wrecked, and it’s not right for shopify to hold onto my domain name. PERIOD.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated…thanks in advance.
