I have Facebook and Instagram shops integrated to my Shopify Store and it works great. Right now when I tag a product it shows in the FB/IG shop and the customer clicks to be directed to my website which works great. Is there more value changing the checkout to have the customer pay in Facebook or Instagram Shop instead of going to my website? and if they purchase through the FB/IG shop does it mark sold in Shopify Store? Anything else to consider? my FB and IG are @WandaTynerGlass art
It’s great to hear you are utilizing Facebook & Instagram Shopping! When you set up the Facebook channel, you have the option to choose between two checkout methods: checkout on your Shopify store, or checkout on Facebook and Instagram. The benefit of having this enabled means your customers can shop without having to leave the Instagram or Facebook app! When a customer buys something through Checkout on Facebook or Instagram, the order appears on the Orders page in Shopify. Additional information about orders placed on Facebook and Instagram are available on the order’s details page.

Unless you would like to be a guinea pig for Facebook, I would stay away from enabling check out on Facebook - it is very glitchy and becomes a complete time suck trying to “fix” it. If you have issues, there is very little to no support from the Facebook side and Shopify sort have has their hands tied.
once you start using checkout with Facebook, your Facebook page will show shipping and return prices and info that may not be consistent with your Shopify store, you cannot edit this, your Facebook product details will also tell customers can cancel within 30 minutes of purchase. This information also will not be removed if you disable checkout through Facebook, once your enable checkout with Facebook, you are committed to their terms, this info is permanently published in your product details on your Facebook page
Also, I have been trying to get an issue resolved now for 3 months - an order was completely fulfilled in Shopify, but Facebook is only showing partially fulfilled, so I did not get my complete pay out. There is a possibility of communication issues between Shopify and Facebook in regards to order status which will lead to you not getting your Facebook payouts even if you have fulfilled your order.
Business owners - respect your time and energy, you have enough things to worry about, don’t add Facebook check out to your list of frustrations.
Great news this is working for you. My instagram shop is doing the same thing i.e. I can now tag products which links instagram posts to my instagram store (which is great)! However the photos that I tag are now appearing as product images in the instagram store which I don’t like.
I have spent a lot of time selecting high quality photos for customers to browse through on my website and I would rather these photos appear in my instagram store for my products.
The photos I post on instagram are promotional content designed to be eye catching, colourful and make the brand look good but they do not necessarily show customers how the product looks and what they are buying.
Does anyone know how to select which photos appear in the insta store and specifically make them the same photos which I have chosen for the website?
