We received this email, and we are not sure what needs to be done. Has anyone else received this email. Our domain auto-renews.

That or any other email you get from a Gmail address, that claims that is from Shopify is a scam. Shopify would never use Gmail 
There is a similar scam with a theme license.
Ignore, move to trash, and enjoy your day.
