I am trying my hand at the wild world of E-Commerce and am so excited to face this challenge! I have a product marketing and sales background but only dabbled with digital marketing. I have my shop almost there, minus several collections and products.
my main question is social media the other thing that will drive shop traffic? I worked within chat gpt to identify long tail tags and placed them in the product listings but although my shop is live, traffic is zero.
I know I must get social marketing kickstarted (any recs on freelancers in this space?), but what else can I find tune to help?
Please be kind! I am no expert, which is why I came here.
Thanks, in advance, for the extra nudge towards my dream (that I’m turning reality right now) of being self employed!
I hope you are doing fine. Overall your store design and UI is pretty nice.
I have helped 100s of e-commerce brands and share my best practices with you:
Header/Logo is way too large. In Conversion Rate Optimization, we speak about above the fold, which is the part of the page that you see on your screen. In this case, the header already takes away a lot of real estate.
adding social proof (reviews, testimonials, and earned media) can be very helpful
Showing mood images with faces actually can differentiate yourself from most drop shippers (I don’t know if you do drop shipping)
On your home page, you try directly to sell. The customer needs to understand your why. Why should someone buy your product? What problem do you solve better than others? For me, that is clearly missing on the home page.
White color codes are statistically the worst performing CTA color codes. You might want to test a different one.
Add a variance of images. Also show mood and model pics there.
Product descriptions can be heavily improved. Try to sell the benefit not the feature.
Try to add an FAQ section which ease to solve potential customer doubts.
I hope I was able to help you a little bit.
I appreciate the effort you’ve put into your business. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or need further clarification on any of the points mentioned.
I appreciate that you have provided your online store URL for us to explore! Looking into your store, I noticed that the social media links displayed on the footer of the store are not directing me to your social media business pages. Having these links available can help build trust from your visitors knowing that they can reach out to the business across different social media platforms. I took a screenshot of the section on the footer of the website to show you what I am referring to:
You can update these links displayed on the footer by navigating to the Theme Editor and selecting the Theme Settings. Once that has been selected, you should see the section to make changes to the footer social media links. Feel more than welcome to check out our guide on the Help Center here for linking your social media business pages.
Social media can be a main point to drive traffic to your store and help reach a larger audience. With that being said, you can also add keywords to your online store’s SEO to appear higher on search results. I would also suggest taking a look into our article that goes into depth about 21 ways to drive traffic to your website as you may find it useful!
Thanks, Ollie! When you say SEO, do you mean the tags on the product listings oy key words within the product descriptions and text? Is that where I enter SEO keywords? I can find them via chat gpt, I think, unless you have another reco.

I really like the elegant design of the page. It’s easy to navigate and I can quickly find the information I’m looking for. From my CRO expertise, I have some feedback for your Store and hope that they can help you increase the design:
1. Homepage
Place CTA button to center of the hero banner: Placing the CTA button in the center of the hero banner can draw more attention to it, making it the focal point of the hero section. This can help ensure that visitors notice and understand the primary action you want them to take. Centered CTAs often work well on both desktop and mobile devices.
Highlight one featured product detail: Featuring a specific product on your homepage is an effective way to showcase promotions, discounts, or special offers or simply introduce your product. This can grab the attention of visitors and encourage them to explore further or even make a purchase.
2. Collection page
Add ATC buttons on collection page: Adding ‘Add to Cart’ (ATC) buttons to a collection page of a website or online store can be beneficial for encouraging customers to make impulse purchases. By doing so, you can also guide your visitors to the point of purchase without the struggle of searching for the ‘Add to Cart’ button.
Add hover images on your product lists: This enables customers to view your product from various angles and gather more detailed information about it.
3. Get more sales from extra tips
I’ve observed that your product currently lacks any sales promotions. This is an excellent opportunity for you to strategize and draw in more potential customers by offering competitive prices for the upcoming holiday sales. You can refer to some of my suggestions below:
Create special offers: To live up your store, highlight your product, and upsell.
Add a countdown timer: To create a sense of urgency and encourage them to make the purchase now rather than later.
Utilize social media: To expand the reach of your promotional campaign by sharing promotion posts or running ads.
I hope you find these suggestions helpful in optimizing your website’s conversion rate. If you have any further questions or need additional assistance, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I wish you the best of luck with your online venture!
That is a great question! You can add keywords to the SEO of your online store by navigating to Online store > Preferences. I took a screenshot from my test store to show you the section I am referring to:
Additionally, you can make updates to your product description and product SEO to include keywords by selecting the product that you would like to change using the Shopify admin. Once you are viewing the product, scroll down towards the bottom to view the Search engine listing section and select Edit.
First of all, I like the look of your store! It has many aspects that make it amazing already, but here is some feedback on how I think you can improve your store:
Add an add to cart button / call to action button under your products on the home page
Adding reviews and testimonials to your site (helps with social proof and SEO!)
Adding a blog about interior design/decor – this can directly help bring search engine traffic to your site should your audience find your topics interesting.
Once you have some sales, it would be nice to add a post-purchase survey (marketing attribution – where they found out about you, or product feedback). You can reward your customers through coupons or points incentives to keep them coming back.
Hi @luxeloftxo I’ve given some feedback above for you. Does it help? I’m willing to discuss more if you have any further questions about it.
I just saw @Francesca86 's comment so I ask if he/she need a little feedback from us or not
Please let me know if there is any thing else I can help.
I visited your store and it looks great overall and is easy to navigate. To make it even better, I’d like to offer some suggestions for your consideration.
Display your product list in a one row to reduce scrolling time and save space. You can increase the number of items per row to 4 or 5 to provide customers with an overview of your products.
Add testimonials to your products to increase trust. I believe that your customers will trust your products more when they see this, reducing any hesitation to click ‘Buy Now.’
Add more product description in the featured product detail
Consider adding 1-2 sections, such as a benefits section or a customer review section, to provide more of your store’s information as well as products. That could be free ship, refund policy or your product features.
I appreciate the effort you’ve put into your business. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or need further clarification on any of the points mentioned.
