Yes, absolutely agree, Shopify should get a system to scan stores, especially new ones, as there are a lot of stores. But also, I think merchants should be more aware of scams, educated, and do a bit more research before buying.
You said “We buy trusting in Shopify”, but that is what scammers use the most. You should not as you know now. But haven’t you heard of any online store scams?
And, I have to ask you, why have you trusted that store, besides it was Shopify? Wasn’t the price at least a bit too cheap? Too good to be true? Have you searched other stores and seen how much they sell just pants?
Had reviews? On top of the page says 5000+, but in the review block, a bit less than 400. And I guess you did try to email them after you made an order, but before, have you checked the address, maybe? It is the UPS center.
But you learned now how scammers work. And in the future, you will see some of the red flags, and hopefully will share to people you know so they can be careful.
