Store sessions increased after ads, but sales stay the same.

Hello everyone, and thanks for your time in advance!

I have had this website for a few years now that I used as a catalog for the aftermarket parts I sell here locally. Recently I expanded the website and started paying for ads on Instagram and Facebook. Previously, I would get roughly 100 - 250 store sessions per week, and 1 to 5 sales. For the past 2 weeks I have been regularly getting 150+ sessions per day which is a massive increase, but sales have not changed. I went through my whole website multiple times, done days of research on here, reddit etc to try to find what I could be doing wrong but im honestly stumped.

Im hoping someone has some feedback or advice for me. Please, feel free to roast me. Im ready to fix anything needed to increase sales to my store. Thanks again for everyone’s time!

Hi, I’m Wayne from Akohub. We have been working with many brands to run online stores. I have viewed your website and hope our expertise can help you.

Your website has a fantastic and comprehensive design that showcases your aftermarket parts effectively. The detailed product information is a great asset for potential customers who want to know exactly what they’re purchasing. To enhance user experience even further, consider adding a clear CTA button in the hero section. This simple addition can guide visitors toward specific actions, such as exploring products or making a purchase, which can significantly improve navigation and create a more seamless shopping experience.

With the recent surge in daily sessions, it’s essential to leverage this traffic effectively. Implementing retargeting strategies can be a game-changer for you. These strategies allow you to re-engage visitors who have shown interest in your products but didn’t complete their purchases. By reminding them of the items they viewed, you can encourage them to return and finalize their transactions. Additionally, expanding your advertising efforts through Google Ads and Facebook Ads can help attract even more viewers to your site. Combining these ads with retargeting campaigns will maximize your visibility and conversion potential, as retargeting is particularly effective at converting users who are already familiar with your offerings.

To facilitate this process, you might want to explore our Ako Marketing app. Its retargeting features can help you set up marketing campaigns more easily, allowing you to focus on creating engaging content while the app handles the technical aspects of reaching out to potential customers. By utilizing Ako Marketing alongside these strategies, you can transform that increased traffic into actual sales and build a loyal customer base over time. Keep refining your approach, and you’ll likely see those sales numbers rise!

Best wishes! If you have any more questions or need a free professional consultation, feel free to let us know! Don’t forget to like and mark it as a solution if you find this helpful.

Hi @Box2Motorsport ,

I am from Mageplaza - Shopify solution expert.

I would be happy to review your website and provide feedback on the performance. Here are some suggestions to improve the performance of your website and increase sales:

1. Monitor Your Cart Abandonment Rate

A high cart abandonment rate can be particularly frustrating for your business, especially after investing significantly in attracting visitors to your site. This issue indicates that many potential customers are deciding not to complete their purchases, contributing to low conversion rates.

To address this, you can remind customers about the items left in their carts and encourage them to complete their purchases by:

  • Email Reminders: Send emails to customers who abandon their carts, reminding them of their items.
  • Incentives: Offer a discount or free shipping to motivate them to finalize their purchases.
  • For more detailed guidance, refer to an article from the Shopify Help Center
  1. Improve promotional banner and section on Homepage

You should add seasonal banners for current promotions or collections (e.g., Summer Sale, Winter Collection) to catch the attention of customers.

Additionally, featuring sections like “Best Sellers” and “On Sale”, New arrivals on the homepage, make discount labels and pricing information more noticeable, can drive attention to popular and discounted products, encouraging visitors to engage more with your site. Here is a reference:

3. Improve search bar

You should make a search bar with large product images, show price and discount information, including color search, collection search, etc functionality to enhance search bar. This will help customers find their needs quickly, enhancing their shopping experience. Below is a reference:

4. Adding Support section

You should add your customer service policies such as: privacy policy, return policy, shipping policy, FQA. Adding these sections will address purchasing hesitation and build trust to your customers, encouraging them to buy your products. Here is a reference:

I don’t see your ads so I can’t make detailed recommendations on your landing page. But here are some recommendations from “Databox”. You can check more in this article.

“When CTR is high but the conversion rate is low that indicates a problem with the landing page, which is most commonly due to a lack of effective calls-to-action (CTA) on the page. The solution is to create a clear CTA like a “Buy Now” or “Read More” button. The CTA can be a clickable image overlaid with a small amount of text or a simple button.”

I hope my suggestions are helpful. If you find it good comment, it would be appreciated if you could “Like” or “Mark as Solution”. Thank you and Good luck!

Hi @Box2Motorsport ,

This is Kate from PageFly - Shopify Advanced Page Builder app.

I’m genuinely impressed with your website. It has a stylish flair while remaining clean, clear, and professional. Based on my expertise in CRO, I’d love to offer some suggestions to improve the conversion rate and sales for your store.

Add a CTA Button for the hero banner

You should include a CTA button on your hero banner. A hero banner with a Call-to-Action (CTA) button is essential for store homepages as it immediately grabs visitors’ attention, clearly communicates key brand messages or offers, and directs them toward desired actions like shopping or signing up. Example: Explore More, Buy Now

Have a testimonial section on your homepage

Including customer testimonials, ratings, or reviews prominently on the home page and product pages can significantly boost trust and credibility. This social proof can be a powerful motivator for new customers to make a purchase.

Add a trust badge section on your homepage

Add a trust badge section to your homepage to boost customer confidence and conversions by showcasing secure payments, free shipping, and quality guarantees.

Use Color Swatches

For products that come in multiple colors, it’s highly recommended to use color swatches on your product page instead of listing each color as a separate product. This approach keeps your store organized and makes it easier for customers to find all color options in one place.

By assigning a unique image to each color variant, you provide a visually appealing and seamless shopping experience. Color swatches allow customers to quickly view and select their desired color, enhancing their decision-making process and boosting overall satisfaction with your store. This small change can lead to better engagement and increased conversions.

Checkout Process

  • Streamlined Checkout: Ensure the checkout process is smooth, with as few steps as possible. Offering guest checkout and multiple payment options can reduce friction.
  • Cart Abandonment: Implement reminders for users who abandon their carts, using email or SMS campaigns.

I hope you find these suggestions helpful in optimizing your website’s conversion rate and sales. If you have any further questions or need additional assistance, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I wish you the best of luck with your online venture.

Best regards,

Kate | PageFly Team

Hi @Box2Motorsport ,

We appreciate your inquiry in the Shopify Community. We are MooseDesk, a comprehensive Live Chat, FAQ & Helpdesk App designed to elevate your customer support experience.

Congrats on your new store! Your store looks stunning. I can tell you have put a lot of effort into building this. There is a huge diversity of products and image illustrations.

However, I have some comments to boost your conversion rates. Here are some of my recommendations, please kindly check.

1. Optimize the Hero banner with headline

I notice that there is the headline “Box 2 Motorsport - Where Function Meets Form” but it is below the Hero banner and designed not attractive enough. My suggestion is integrate that headline with Hero banner with more captivating fonts.

2. Structure the Homepage Effectively

I have to say that your Homepage have not provided sufficient information for users like me to build trust as it is just packed with products. A well-organized homepage guides users seamlessly through content. Consider the following layout:

  • Hero Banner: Captivating image with a strong CTA.
  • Bestsellers: Showcase top-selling products to highlight popular items.
  • Introduction: Briefly introduce your brand, mission, and values to create brand trust (as purchasing car accessories is still attached to brand spirit and status leverage to customers)
  • Value Proposition: Clearly state what sets your products apart, such as quality, sustainability, or unique features.
  • Customer Testimonials: Display reviews with customer photos to build trust and social proof.
  • Certificates & Partnerships: Present material/gurarantee certificates, partnerships to boost your brand credibility

3. Improve Product page with assembly video tutorials

  • First, when directed to the Product page, what appears first should be the product, not an image of a random car, which therefore reduce the misunderstanding of customers.
  • Also, to further provide customer-centric support to boost conversion, you can present assembly video tutorials of hub adapters, oil caps, etc. Because as a user, I find it hard to imagine with just images.
  • Then, from video tutorials, you can redirect “If you need further support, contact us through the chat widget/contact us” for further customer engagement.

4. Make About us page more insightful and attractive

The page “About us” should make customers understand your brand founding story and brand identity more. They can be made more attractive to read by creating blocks (instead of writing long sentences in full screen length), inserting more images, etc.

5. Add FAQ section & refine Contact us page

  • Contact Us Page: Refine a comprehensive contact page with a form, email address, phone number, and physical address if applicable. This builds trust and provides multiple avenues for customer support.

  • FAQ Section: Create a detailed FAQ page addressing common customer queries. This can reduce support requests and assist in the decision-making process.

  • Email Marketing Integration: Through contact information collected, you can build an email list for marketing campaigns, offering subscribers exclusive deals and updates.

For an easy solution, I recommend trying MooseDesk App. It provides free, professionally designed FAQ and Contact Us templates with customer data storage space that are perfect for elevating your store effortlessly!

So those are some of my suggestions for your store as an UX expert. If this is helpful for you, please let me know by giving me a ‘LIKE’. If your question is answered please mark this as 'SOLUTION’.

Once again, keep up the fantastic work, and I wish you the best of luck in the future!

Hi @Box2Motorsport

Thanks for sharing your situation so clearly! First of all, congrats on driving more traffic—that’s a huge step. But I understand how frustrating it can be when traffic doesn’t translate into sales. Based on what you’ve shared, here are some practical steps and things to check to help you turn those sessions into sales:

1. Analyze Your Traffic Quality- Where is the traffic coming from? Check if your ads are targeting the right audience—people genuinely interested in aftermarket parts. Use tools like Google Analytics or Shopify’s built-in analytics to see the demographics, interests, and behaviors of your visitors.

  • Ad Creatives and Messaging: Ensure your ads clearly showcase what you’re selling and the value you offer. If people click your ad but don’t buy, it might mean the messaging in the ad doesn’t match what they see on your website (a disconnect between expectations and reality).

2. Review Website Experience- Landing Pages: Are visitors landing on specific product pages or the homepage? Landing on a page that doesn’t match their intent can cause them to leave. If you’re running ads, ensure they direct visitors to highly relevant pages with a clear call to action.

  • Navigation & Speed: Make sure your website is easy to navigate and loads quickly (aim for under 3 seconds). Slow websites kill sales. Use tools like Google PageSpeed Insights to check and optimize.
  • Mobile Optimization: Since you’re advertising on Instagram and Facebook, most of your traffic will likely come from mobile. Test your website on a phone to ensure the layout, buttons, and shopping experience are seamless.

3. Focus on Product Pages- Photos: Use high-quality images that showcase your products from multiple angles. Include zoom functionality if possible.

  • Descriptions: Make your product descriptions detailed, focusing on benefits (not just features). Why should someone buy from you and not a competitor?
  • Pricing & Offers: Are your prices competitive? If not, consider offering limited-time discounts or free shipping to entice buyers.
  • Trust Signals: Display reviews, customer testimonials, and badges like secure checkout or warranties to build credibility.

4. Add Conversion Boosters- Abandoned Cart Recovery: Set up Shopify’s automated emails to bring back visitors who leave items in their cart.

  • Exit-Intent Popups: Use tools like Privy or OptinMonster to offer a discount when someone is about to leave your site.
  • Upsell or Bundle Offers: Promote complementary products or offer discounts for multiple purchases.

5. Reevaluate Your Checkout Process- Friction-Free Checkout: Reduce steps at checkout. Allow guest checkout and display multiple payment options.

  • Shipping Information: Be transparent about shipping costs and delivery times upfront. Hidden fees can drive customers away.

6. Follow Up with Retargeting- Use Facebook Pixel or Google Ads Remarketing to target people who visited your site but didn’t purchase. Show them ads featuring the products they viewed to nudge them back.

7. Feedback and Testing- Ask for Feedback: Install a live chat or feedback tool like Tidio to directly ask visitors why they didn’t buy.

  • A/B Testing: Experiment with different ads, landing pages, and offers. Testing small changes (like button color, headline text, etc.) can help you find what works.

Finally, I took a quick look at your website Box2Motorsport.com. Here’s what I noticed:

  • Visual Appeal: The site looks clean, but adding more dynamic visuals or videos (like showing your parts in action) could make it more engaging.
  • Trust Elements: Consider adding a section for reviews or social proof, like real customer photos or testimonials.
  • Call to Action: Ensure your buttons and calls to action stand out. They should grab attention and guide users toward a purchase.

If you take these steps and test things out, you should start seeing improvements. Converting traffic into sales can take some time, so keep experimenting and refining based on what you learn.

If you need any other assistance, feel free to reply and I will try my best to respond.
Best regards,
Daisy

Hey @Box2Motorsport

I checked out your site and spotted some things that could help boost sales.

You’re missing product bundles and upselling opportunities.

Since you have more products to suggest, an app like iCart Cart Drawer Cart Upsell could help you show related products or bundle deals right in the cart. This could make it easier for customers to buy more at once and increase your average order value.

I would be happy to chat more if you want to explore how this could work for you.
