High website traffic, but no sales

Hi, I opened my shop about a week ago and began running ads on Facebook and Instagram. I am getting a decent amount of sessions per day (~300) but I am not getting ANY sales. With this kind of traffic, I would have expected at least one sale? feedback would be appreciated :slightly_smiling_face:

Hello @user2283 A good suggestion for starters would be to add an “About Us” page so that customers can have a look at the background and some of the ideas behind the store
I think it would also be a great addition to add some videos in the product gallery to showcase the products even better while they’re in use and make them look more appealing and convincing.
Lastly, you should add links to the social media accounts of the store as well as accepted mediums of payment at the bottom of the homepage.

Hi @user2283

Welcome to the commuity.
And first advice is to search communty for similar posts, take some time, research and see all tips that are givien to store owners and you can improve. Just search “no sales” and you will find a lot of store owners that started droppshipping and have issues with sales. Check one of topic from other day

And I think droppshipping is hard, and that it takes a lot of effort to get some sales. Becasue your products, however nishe they are, are also on a few hundred similar stores. At least. Just think how much time was needed for you to set all up. Get app, choose products, choose a few sections on homepage and boom, store is ready. Spend some money on ads and all will gather to your store and buy. Well, unfortubnatelly, that is not enough. It is a start, a base.

Main question is, why would anyone buy from your store? Adds bring all interested people, they should buy straight away? Ask yourself: How do you buy online? Found an add, link, go to storeand buy without any checks? No, what do you check?
Is store trustworty enough or is it scam store? Then check your store and see if it is actually trustworty. You campare price? oh, one click and Google find same image on bunch of websites. For example: I checked one rear camera $60, ok not cheap, so lets goole a bit to find some alternatives: from a few links, I selected Aliexpress $9, currently on discount. Same camera. Do I trust Aliexpress, yep, not urgent item can wait few weeks. Do I trust your store, well no. Minimal contact infotmation(gmail email), terms state

These Terms of Service and any separate agreements whereby we provide you Services shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the federal and state or territorial courts in the jurisdiction where Old Car New Tech is headquartered

So no idea, who you are and where you are from, but still yo expect to give you my credit card and personal info? Well no.

And a few bits on site itself:

  • logo is most generic free logo outthere, try to find something better, even AI cna generate something better. But also set a favicon
  • You menu is default, and not helpfull to customer journey. Add a lot of collectins: like Cameras. Screens, Light, Gadgets, .. . so customers could find thier product faster.
  • “We make things that work better and last longer. Our products solve real problems with clean design and honest materials.” Almost every word is wrong, from “we make” to “honest !?!? materials” That text welcomes users but does not look good.
  • Then you have some images and product and at end a bit of text about you. Looks AI generated but have soem things you should emphasise more. Whole homepage and not a single old car. Imagine effect if you have a video of some old car, then how to install a few products and showcase before/after. Like old show “Pimp my ride” You have a lot of oportunities to make your store more personal, more real content, guide customers more. Not just products and that is it.
  • Your catalog page on wide screens shows too many products in one row. Customer would have issues focusing.
  • I recommend at least, choose first image for product that is clean white background and just product in center. No text, no graphics. Simple.
  • YOu product page nees some work, it is mainly in images. Product info is just part at top and it get lost in all images. If you scroll pass add to cart button, then in description it starts to show all images you already have on left gallery. Do you need them? THis way you scoll and scroll and have 3 colmuns of images. Customer forget where to click.
  • Do add sticky add-to-cart section.
  • You do need more sections, need to send more trust signals, more credibility.

And I am not here to discorige you, but you need more work, not just on site but outside too. And again, research comunity at least.

Good luck, sales will come. Be patient also, just a week passed.

I get you’re looking for feedback. Move the topic to store feedback, and your question should get more eye balls and advice as well.

Couple of things you may want to consider:

  • swap the hero image for something that tells a story. Are you selling gadges, parts, or a life style?
  • The landing page feels like a collection section. Make every bit of the home page count. It’s brutal fact but the majority has made that decision when they land on your homepage for the first split seconds.
  • Product titles vs product description. I’m a bit confused about which is which. It seems they were copied over from the supplier and more of specifics sort of info.

Traffic does not mean “rich”, traffic does not mean quality traffic or conversions, etc.
Such expectations are a false hope born of magic thinking or outright greed hoping money in equals even more money in.
It gets in the way of actually fixing/creating a real business model.

Get self-awareness as fast as possible by learning from all the mistakes to be found in one of the mass graveyards of this cliché.

Or have enough money to bring someone in with experience or an agency.

Most every single other thing a new merchant does before such self reflection can just be useless busy work to avoid reality.

Hello, I believe you’re doing well. I can see you’re new to dropshipping business and I will like to share some idea to you. Firstly, I want you to understand that running an ads doesn’t mean you will start making sales. You need to make sure you’re targeting the right audience and did you select the right objective while setting up the ads. If you choose the wrong objective and target the wrong audience you might be getting traffic and not the desire result you aim for.

Hi @user2283

I have checked your website content and noticed some elements which can be optimized in a better way.

  1. Your store favicon is missing. Wonder if you forget to add it or not, it refers to one of the crucial elements on a store, as it is related to your brand. You can add it from Settings options in customization page and after updating, your store can perform in a more professional way.

  2. Pay attention to store performance on Google. You said the ads are running on Facebook and Instagram already, but if your store gets more attentions gradually, some visitors or your potential customers shall manager to make a search of your products on Google and that is why you need to pay attention to the results displaying in search results as well. I have listed two alternative options for your reference:

    (1) Your meta description contents are excessive and need to be shortened. As you can see in the screenshot here, they fail to display completely and if you can shorten them between 100–120 characters, they are surely displaying in a better way than current version, and you can always manage them from backend anytime when necessary.

2The pattern showing in Google Search is not steady and under same format. This may be due to the way of indexing by Google when they find out different contents on your store. Since it refers to structure data section, you can take a look of this article from Google and know about it. If you plan to optimize this part, this article can bring you plentiful help, and you can do better next time, I believe.

I’m open to discuss and share any valuable ideas or knowledges about store performance. If you would like to proceed in a further way, feel free to reply me or connect with us via here for more details. Appreciate it a lot for your contributions to this store!

hi @user2283 :waving_hand: here are my opinions after checking out your store, hope this helps.

Your niche is super cool (modern tech for old cars) and the idea has real potential.
A few things you can tweak to boost trust and conversions:

Hero Section: Your tagline “Elevate Your Ride” looks nice, but it doesn’t instantly say why people should buy.

Product Pages: Show real photos of your products in action inside older cars, that visual trust is huge. Add a few tester reviews and make shipping/returns super clear.

Design & Focus: Keep your fonts and colors consistent. Remove random products that don’t match your “old car tech” theme. Maybe add “Before & After” photos, they work wonders.

Niche Clarity: Focus on 1–3 hero products that solve real pain points (like modern connectivity or safer driving). Too many mixed items can confuse buyers.

Checkout & Follow-Up: Make checkout smooth, offer PayPal/Shop Pay. Use retargeting or abandoned cart emails to re-engage visitors.

About Us, Return Policy & Help Pages

  • About Us: tell your story — why you started Old Car New Tech, what problem you’re solving, and what makes your products special.

  • Return Policy: even a short, clear statement like “30-day hassle-free returns” builds confidence instantly.

  • Help / FAQ page: answer simple questions like shipping times, warranty, installation help, etc. It reduces pre-purchase anxiety.

hope this helps.

Hello @user2283,

It sounds like you’re getting good traffic, which is a great start! Sometimes, even with a lot of visitors, sales don’t happen if customers don’t feel confident about the product. This can happen if the photos aren’t high quality or if there aren’t enough photos or videos showing the product.

One thing that can help is better product presentation. For example, giving customers ways to interact with or visualize the products better online, such as seeing it in 3D or understanding the size, color, and details, can help build trust and make them more likely to buy.

Small changes in how the product is showcased can make a big difference in conversions!

Wishing you luck in your beginnings.

Hii,

You are actually doing things right getting 300 visitors/day in your first week means your ads are definitely catching the attention. Reason you’re not seeing sales yet is likely not traffic but what happens after people land on your store. You can do few things to solve this problem like:

When visitors land in your store they decide in 3,5 seconds if they will stay.

Make sure your hero section top banner instantly shows what you sell and why it’s valuable.
Keep one clear CTA like ‘Shop Now’ instead of multiple buttons.
Try adding a short tagline that highlights your unique edge for ex, ‘Modern tech for classic cars’.

People might be dropping off before checkout because the page doesn’t feel convincing.

Add real life product images showing your items in use that build trust more than plain shots.
Keep your product descriptions short, benefit driven. Focus on how your product improves the user’s life.
Add reviews or testimonials if possible even a few make a huge impact.
Be upfront about shipping and return right below the ‘Add to Cart’ button.

Fix your mobile performance

Your desktop speed is great 94 but the mobile performance score 59 and LCP 15.6s are hurting sales especially since most traffic from Facebook/Instagram is mobile.

Compress large images again especially banner and product gallery
Use WebP format for all visuals.(Image Optimizer Pro) helps you with that.
Limit homepage animations and video backgrounds they delay loading.

Recommended: you can also look into the Website Speedy App that helps you optimize your store’s speed without changing your theme or design and reduces load time, fixes render-blocking issues, and can improve conversions noticeably

Simplify the checkout experience

Enable Shop Pay and PayPal for quicker checkout.
Avoid long forms — ask for only essential details.
Use a free-shipping threshold like ‘Free shipping on orders above $50 to push purchases.
If traffic looks good but no one’s buying, it might mean the wrong audience is clicking.

Check your ad analytics are people from your target country and age group visiting?
Retarget those who added to cart but didn’t buy using a small remarketing ad budget.
