Struggling to Convert

Topic summary

A Shopify store owner reports declining sales after 6 months of initial success and requests feedback on their outdoor furniture business (thewillowstonecollective.com.au).

Key Issues Identified:

  • Using non-professional email address for business communications
  • Policy pages require improvement
  • Product images appear AI-generated rather than authentic photography
  • Identical 5 reviews duplicated across all products
  • Minimal social media presence (43 Facebook followers)
  • No physical storefront or inventory—appears to be dropshipping model
  • Pricing higher than competitors offering same products in physical stores

Core Challenge: Reviewers question the value proposition—why customers would purchase from this store at premium prices when they can buy identical items cheaper elsewhere with the ability to physically inspect products.

Suggested Improvements:

  • Add “Latest Arrivals” section alongside bestsellers
  • Expand and reorganize customer review sections
  • Include FAQ section on homepage

The discussion remains open with no resolution yet provided by the store owner.

Here are some things I found. You are using a non-professional generic email address for business. Policy pages need attention. Outdoor product images are clearly a.i. generated. All of your products have the same 5 reviews in product card.

Your presence and engagement in your community seems lacking. 43 Facebook followers doesn’t scream winner. I see no physical address or storefront, so I assume you don’t have the product you sell? Everything is going to be shipped by someone other than you, correct? Photos are not original. Sale prices are higher than original prices of competitors. So, I think the question should be, why buy from you when I can buy the same thing for less money in a physical store that I can see it, touch it, and lay down on it?

Hi there @Gashe1 I’ve had a look at your store and here are a few suggestions I have that could be very helpful for you

  1. Add a section for latest arrivals to go along with the best sellers section
  2. You should add more customer reviews in the section and re-organize the section a bit better.
  3. You should include some FAQs on the homepage.
