Hello, so I wanted to test payments on my store and this is what I got. Payment won’t complete and it says “There Was An Issue Processing Your Payment. Try Again Or Use A Different Payment Method.” I’m using stripe and I don’t know what to do

Hi, @fjulap . I’m happy to look into this with you! I just have a few questions to make sure I’m giving you helpful advice going forward.

  • Can you walk me through the steps you’re taking to test the payment? Are you trying this with a real order or are you using Stripe’s test mode?
  • Which Shopify subscription plan are you currently using?
  • Are you accepting any other payment methods on your store? For example, PayPal?

Once I have more information I may be able to suggest more to resolve this. For more help with this I also recommend speaking with Stripe directly. If the payment gateway isn’t working as expected, they would have the most information to assist further.

Hi, I’m trying to place a real order. Yes, I have paypal on my store too. I have basic shopify subscription. I tried the paypal with apple pay, paypal and card, but nothing is working.

For context, this error can sometimes occur for merchants using a third-party payment gateway when the payment is never being redirected to the third-party provider’s page. The issue typically stems from the account credentials that was entered in the store’s payment settings in the Shopify admin, but we can’t confirm if this is the case for your account, as third-party payment gateways are supported directly by their own developers outside of the Shopify platform.

Because of this, if you’re still experiencing the issue on your end, as suggested by Erin please contact Stripe directly so that they can further assist. They’re best equipped to crosscheck your account from their end in order to troubleshoot this matter in more detail for you.
