Hi,
Is there anyone experiencing having duplicated orders in Shopify from TikTok. I am using DPL third party app. Thanks!
A merchant is experiencing duplicate orders in Shopify when using TikTok with the DPL third-party app for order syncing.
Root Cause Identified:
The duplication occurs when both the native TikTok Channel app and DPL are simultaneously syncing orders to Shopify. This creates two entries for the same transaction—one from TikTok’s direct integration and one from DPL.
Recommended Solutions:
Current Status:
The merchant cannot locate the “Send Order Event” setting in DPL and has contacted their support team. They’re now seeking guidance on disabling order syncing in the TikTok Channel app (found under Apps > TikTok Channel > Settings/Order Sync section) to retain DPL as the sole syncing method.
The issue remains unresolved pending DPL support response and TikTok Channel configuration changes.
Hi,
Is there anyone experiencing having duplicated orders in Shopify from TikTok. I am using DPL third party app. Thanks!
Hi @JessaCee,
Yes, this can happen, and it’s usually linked to how the TikTok pixel or the DPL app is set up. In most cases, the duplicate orders occur because the order confirmation event fires twice—once from the Shopify checkout and once from the TikTok integration.
Here are a few things you can check:
Confirm your DPL settings:
– Go to your DPL app dashboard and check if the “send order event” is enabled for both TikTok and Shopify. If so, you may need to disable one to avoid double firing.
Check TikTok Events Manager:
– Make sure you’re not tracking the same “Purchase” event twice (once via API and once via pixel).
Verify Shopify Webhooks:
– Sometimes duplicate webhooks for the same order trigger DPL to create an additional order entry.
Reach out to DPL support:
– They’re usually responsive and can confirm if it’s a known bug or a misconfiguration on the app side.
I’d recommend starting with the DPL support team—they can see your event logs and identify where the duplication occurs.
Did the duplicates appear in Shopify Orders or just in TikTok Ads Manager reports? That detail will help narrow down whether it’s reporting or actual order duplication.
Hi @JessaCee,
Yes — I’ve seen similar cases where TikTok orders sync twice into Shopify, especially when a third-party connector like DPL is also handling the handoff. What usually happens is:
TikTok → Shopify direct integration sends the order once.
Third-party app (DPL) also tries to push the same order → creating duplicates.
Here are a few steps to try:
Check your sales channel settings:
Go to Settings > Sales channels in Shopify and confirm whether TikTok is connected directly as a channel, in addition to DPL. If both are active, they may both be syncing the same orders.
Look at order tags/notes:
Duplicated orders often have different tags (e.g., “TikTok” vs “DPL”) which helps confirm the source.
Disable one sync path temporarily:
In many cases, merchants choose either the native TikTok channel OR the third-party app, but not both at the same time.
Check with DPL support:
Since DPL is doing the push, they should confirm whether their app has a setting to prevent duplicate order imports when TikTok is already connected.
Most merchants resolve this by picking one “source of truth” for order import (either TikTok’s direct app or DPL, but not both).
Would you like me to outline the safest way to test which sync is causing the duplicate, so you can confirm before turning anything off?
Hello @JessaCee ,
I hope you are well!
When TikTok is connected to Shopify via the TikTok Shop app, sometimes it creates - TikTok order, and a duplicate draft/order in Shopify (especially if syncing is misconfigured).
How to Fix:
. Go to your TikTok Seller Center → check the Order ID and timestamps.
. In Shopify, find the order(s) → check if the order number or time matches exactly.
. Usually, only fulfill the order that came from TikTok, not the duplicated draft or local Shopify version.
. Go to Shopify Admin → Apps → TikTok.
. Check the settings under Order Sync and Product Sync.
. Ensure that TikTok is the only source managing fulfillment and avoid Shopify’s “auto-fulfill” settings that could be creating duplicates.
This is a common issue — ask them to confirm your integration is set to “TikTok manages orders and fulfillment” and not duplicated by another automation app like Zapier, Order Printer, etc.
Hello! Thanks for the response! May I know where i can find ‘send order event’ from DPL app? Thank you so much!
Hello JessaCee! ![]()
No worries, I can guide you through this.
To locate the “Send Order Event” option in the DPL app:
Go to your Shopify Admin Dashboard.
Click on Apps > TikTok Shop Sync – DPL.
In the left sidebar of the DPL app, click on Settings (as shown in your screenshot).
Scroll down within the Settings tab — you should see the “Send Order Event” toggle or button there.
Make sure it’s enabled to ensure TikTok orders are properly synced and no duplicates occur.
If you still don’t see the option, it could be due to an outdated version of the DPL app or limited access based on your account role. In that case, I recommend reaching out to DPL support to have it activated or confirmed.
If you find my answer helpful, please like my reply and please mark it as a answer.
I am unable to see the ‘Send Order Event’ but currently contacting DPL to see if it’s activated or what. I’ll let you know if it works
Thanks much!
Hello there, I was advised to disable the order syncing in another application so the issues will be resolved. Since we are using DPL as the order syncing, we want to retain that. Do you happen to know where to disable the order syncing from the TikTok Channel App in Shopify?
Hi @JessaCee ![]()
That’s a smart move—contacting DPL first is definitely the right approach.
To disable the order syncing from the TikTok Channel App in Shopify, here’s what you can try:
Go to Shopify Admin > Apps > TikTok Channel.
Navigate to the Settings or Order Sync section (it’s usually under “Order Management” or “Advanced Settings”).
Look for an option like “Order Syncing” or “Sync Orders to Shopify” and toggle it off.
If you don’t see this option, it may be hidden in the Advanced Settings tab, or it could be accessible only to store owners with admin permissions.
If it’s still not visible, I’d recommend reaching out to TikTok’s support team directly—they can disable the syncing from their end.
This will ensure that DPL remains the primary app handling order syncs without any conflicts.
