So, I am a shop customer. Purchase an order last month with supposed 3 days shipping. Package arrives 3 weeks later. 2 weeks after the birthday of who it was for. Now, I accidently purchased something else from another shopify company and it wont show me if the order has been filled, let alone shipped. This was a week ago that I purchased. Of course the app says its not Shop or shopify’s responsibility to fill, track, and even give info on an order. This is BS service and as a customer who orders all the time, i would be very cautious about using Shopify. Of course, Shopify does not have any support to reach out to either. I finally am so frustrated that I had to sign up here, in the hopes of reaching someone who cares. I’m about cancel my order.

First off, you already know that Shopify is a web platform, not responsible for sending out your order. So why you think you need to complain here, or what you think other merchants can possibly do for you, that’s wild… Secondly, you know how easy it was for you to sign up for this? Well that’s how easy it is for someone to sign up for a Shopify store and start “selling”. And lastly, you should know that a lot of merchants on Shopify are dropshipping from china, or just outright scammers who don’t care about you. At all.
But you know, you also have an obligation to yourself not to send money to someone without doing your own due diligence. That means looking at the red flags and warnings. It’s your own responsibility to investigate and vet the people you buy from. If you bought from a dropshipper, you should expect it to take weeks or even months. If that is unacceptable to you, choose the store wiser.

The best course of action is to communicate your concerns with the merchant and suggest improvements to their service. Additionally, you can proactively explore other reputable sellers on the platform. It’s true that the quality of merchants on this platform varies significantly.
my point for posting here as a customer is very specific and if you think I’m dumb enough to not know to reach out to the store then you really didn’t read very well in my comment. Shopify itself is the problem. scumbags like Shopify create a web platform for others to not do good business and then they claim zero responsibility all while making money. in the end only consumers are hurt by platforms like Shopify that takes zero responsibility for what they allow others to do. the real point of my comment was hopefully there are store owners out there who read my comment and steer away from Shopify because they don’t want to be associated with other bad stores that don’t actually do what they say and a platform like Shopify that simply allows bad things to happen.
Nah you’re just complaining to complain. You ordered something and you’re mad you got it late. Understandable. But that has nothing to do with Shopify. That’s between the merchant and the customer. Can Shopify vet better? Absolutely. Is Shopify a scam as a whole. No. There are many big name brands that are on Shopify/Shop app.
Thats such a bs comment on your part. Im not complaining to complain. I had an order that was shipped way later than the company said that it would. That information appeared on Shop, not on the companies website. There was no tracking number given to me at all. I called and emailed many times about getting a tracking number, or a expected date. Nothing….. Now, I have a second order, again no tracking, no email, no idea that the order had been filled until today, and I still dont have any idea when it come. SHOP and Shopify have some responsibility for this because the order was placed through their platform. Keep drinking the cool-aid. Making excuses for a platform that does not even show tracking numbers, or requiring stores that Shopify allows to use its platform is beyond inexcusable.
My real problem is that Shopify does not disclose any of these things to people ordering. If I had known in advance, I never would have ordered. And I made the mistake of ordering this second time. Thats on me. I dont know how I missed that I was ordering on SHOP.

Yea so, I did some more research and guess what. The store on their Discord site announced that they cannot deliver anything until sometime in Jan. Yet they are still taking orders on this site and ZERO disclosure from either them or SHOP/Shopify they cannot even say when they can fill an order. This is why if I was a store owner, I would never associate myself with Shopify because as a consumer, I will never buy again using SHOP or Shopify. If I cannot even get an email or a tracking number why would I waste my time on an order. Shopify does not care about consumers, only their getting revenue from stores.

Shopify literally has nothing to do with your order. Or the tracking number. That is done by the MERCHANT. You already know this though. And you already did research and learned that the MERCHANT is having fulfillment/shipping issues. And you’re still blaming the website host lol. Thats like saying it’s the parking lot owners fault that another driver scratched your car.
I once bought a part cerakoted in kodiak brown from a well-established company and it took 3 months to arrive. Not once did I think the web host was the one at fault. That’s just nonsense

I understand why you’re frustrated. When you place an order and the delivery ends up taking weeks, it really takes the joy out of the whole experience especially when it was meant for a birthday. Anyone would be upset in that situation.
Just to clear things up a bit: Shopify isn’t the one shipping the items. Each store owner handles their own fulfillment, tracking, and customer service. Some do it well, some unfortunately don’t. That’s why one store can deliver fast while another takes much longer.
For your current order, the quickest option is to contact the store directly. Most stores have a support email or contact form on their website. If they don’t respond within a reasonable time, you can also reach out to your bank or card provider to request a chargeback they usually step in when a seller isn’t communicating.
You definitely deserve clearer updates and better communication. I hope the store responds quickly so you can at least know what’s going on with your order.
Probably there doing this because we’re in festive season, Since you also mentioned they cannot deliver anything unless january, You will have to actually wait then
