After running a separate blog/wordpress for 12 years I decided I wanted to fold it into Shopify to create less friction but I’m amazed to see how the blog/content portion of Shopify has really never been given any love. With all the updates and magic that is being added I’d expect far more of Wix or [insert other WYSIWYG editor of modern flavor] be more ready for this space. We still drive commerce through being in front of the firehose of searches and it’s still a reliable mechanism for funneling.
So–please, spend some of these magical updates quarter to quarter and let’s see content pages/blogs/etc get a facelift with current/modern approaches. This is currently feeling quite archaic and there’s no good reason for it.
Hi @SecretChocolate
I understand your frustration with Shopify’s current blog editor feeling outdated, especially after transitioning from a more dynamic platform like WordPress. While Shopify has been rolling out numerous updates, the blog functionality hasn’t seen significant improvements recently.
As of now, Shopify hasn’t announced any major overhauls to its native blog editor. However, to enhance your blogging experience on Shopify, you might consider integrating third-party applications that offer more advanced features. Here are a few notable options:
- Bloggle: This app provides a robust blogging platform with a drag-and-drop editor, SEO tools, and customizable templates, allowing you to create engaging and optimized content.
- DropInBlog: Known for its SEO-friendly features, DropInBlog offers an intuitive interface and seamless integration with Shopify, helping you manage your blog efficiently.
- Pro Blogger: This tool enhances your blog by allowing you to showcase related products within your posts, potentially increasing conversions by linking content to your merchandise.
These apps can bridge the gap between Shopify’s current capabilities and the more modern blogging features you’re accustomed to. By integrating them, you can create a more dynamic and engaging blog experience within your Shopify store.
If you need any other assistance, feel free to reply and I will try my best to help.
Best regards,
Daisy
