Hi everyone, I’m dropshipping with Shopify and using Shopify Payments. My store location is set to the UK, and I have a registered LTD company there. However, I live in Iraq (a very restrictive country) and can’t open a UK bank account. I have a Payoneer individual account that provides a UK sort code and account number.
I’m attaching a screenshot from Payoneer where they explain how to use this bank account information.
Can I use this Payoneer individual account for Shopify Payments payouts, or do I need a business Payoneer account?

So, Will Shopify accept my payout request based on the information I’ve provided?
Thanks.
Hi! Since you’re running a UK LTD company and you’re based in Iraq, you’re in a common situation for international dropshippers using Shopify.
Regarding Payoneer & Shopify Payments:
Unfortunately, Shopify Payments does not support Payoneer (individual or business accounts) for payouts. Shopify requires a real UK-based bank account, typically tied to your company, for payouts to be processed. Even though Payoneer provides UK account details (via Barclays or similar), Shopify often doesn’t recognize these virtual accounts as valid for payouts.
What you can do instead:
Use an alternative payment provider like WallidPay – it’s designed for international merchants with UK LTDs who can’t use Shopify Payments.
This way, you can avoid Shopify Payments altogether while still accepting card payments from your customers.
