What is a sort code in banking information?

I’m in the payments section trying to configure my Shopify Payments and in the “Banking information” i’ts asking me for the “SORT CODE” … what is the sort code ?? where can I find it ??

A SORT code is a six-digit number used in the United Kingdom and Ireland to identify a bank and branch in domestic transactions.

Your SORT code is usually printed on your checks or bank statements. You can check your online banking platform or contact your bank’s customer service for assistance. If you have a checkbook, you can find the sort code at the bottom of each check, often to the right of the account number.
