New here and I’m looking for advice on thermal printers for shipping labels. I’ve read multiple reviews but I figured I’d come to those using the same platform.
I’ll ask it simply, what’s a good thermal label printer? Something that works properly and isn’t crazy difficult to set up for those not technology inclined lol. I’m shopping Amazon but can shop elsewhere.
Thank you for reaching out to the Community! I’m happy to provide some assistance with selecting a label printer for the shop, to ensure this gets resolved.
To get started, I recommend checking out our list of Supported Shipping Label Printers. This documentation outlines various types of printers that are currently available in your region and will fit your shop’s needs. It includes a breakdown of the printers compatibility, model number, and function (i.e wireless and/or USB).
For example, the Dymo LabelWriter 4XL is a popular USB printer that can be easily connected to your Windows or Mac computer through the following steps:
Click Support > Downloads: Software, Drivers & User Guides.
Under the latest Mac version, click Download.
After the download is complete, open the .dmg file to install Dymo’s Label Software.
Follow the instructions in the installer.
Plug your printer in to your computer using the included USB cable, and connect its power adapter. After you turn on the printer, your computer will detect it automatically.
Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns!
I’m only seeing printers that are $300 to $500 in the list when there are much less expensive printers out there that are just as good. Why can we not use those?
Great question! You can certainly look into using another label printer of your choice. The mentioned printers above are Shopify-supported and ultimately recommended. If however, you have found another printer that better fits your shops needs, please feel free too!
Please let me know if you have any other concerns.
My brother recently bought this thermal printer, it is the best in the market with seamless connectivity and quality prints. He has a Shopify store for hoodies and he is getting 15-20 orders per day so ya it’s a perfect fit for him.
