Users are encountering a “Translatable content hash is invalid” error when attempting to save translations in Shopify Translate & Adapt. The issue affects multiple language pairs including Turkish, Italian, Icelandic, and Spanish.
Identified Solutions:
The error often occurs when the original source content has been modified after translation began
Workaround: Copy the translated text, refresh the page, then paste and save the translation
Email links within content can trigger this error; removing and re-adding them after saving may resolve the issue
Staff Response:
A Shopify staff member requested affected users send videos or detailed screenshots to localization-product-team@shopify.com, as the team cannot reproduce the error internally and needs replication steps to investigate further.
Status: The discussion remains open with community-discovered workarounds available, but no official fix has been announced. Multiple users continue reporting the issue across different language translations.

I’m also experiencing the same translating from English to Italian. I can’t upload the screen recording I have because I don’t have permission but hopefully someone else will be able to do it.
Hi @thecolorsofawom please see the email address above to send to (or upload to YouTube as unlisted and share there or here), cc @rapidturtle@maka93 . If video’s not possible then screenshots are ok - just give me steps to replicate. We need that to work out what’s happening and fix, thanks
@arctisroots@kport@maka93@thecolorsofawom just re-iterating here that we’re not currently looking at this issue as we don’t have a video of it yet. Please make one if you’re seeing this error and send to us
Hi! I just had the same issue and after some looking around, I figured out it was because the original source content was changed.
My fix was to copy the text I translated, refresh the page and then paste the translated text.
