I keep getting this error message when uploading images for 2 of my collections, I’ve tried resized photos, made them square, changed the file name to simple short file names, none of these worked. Does anyone have a solution for this?

This situation occurs when the file you are uploading is either in the wrong format or is too large for Shopify.

According to Shopify, images must be of upto 20 MB. Larger images impact site speed and hence is not allowed.

Check the image you are uploading, is it in the right format, and is it below 20 MB in size.

If not, please resize the image by changing its resolution.

Shopify supports only some specific file (image) formats like- JPEG, Progressive JPEG, PNG, etc.

However, Shopify recommends square images with a resolution of 1024 pixels x 1024 pixels to ensure high-quality images.

We have also encountered the same problem.

When there are no images in the collection, call the interface to provide the same error feedback. But in reality, the image has been successfully uploaded.

Regardless of success or failure, the return is “src=>” Error Updating Collection With This Image "

We think there is still a bug in the API，Our API version: 2025-01
