Why am I getting traffic but not making any sales on my online store?

I keep getting traffic but no sales and my prices are really low for the items I’m getting pennies for what I am selling or if I did make a sale

I have tried reorganizing the navigation through the store, made my store look like it’s not just a random item pit and added discounts ( at a certain amount) and other things to it

  • I’ve been advertising my products for free except once

  • reorganized my store

  • added more detail (apps, contact, about)

I’m 18 I know I don’t have every marketing, sales and management experience or qualifications but i am trying my best I have taken nights on this going through settings: setting up favicons, about, apps, contact page, blog page, socials links, then doing ad marketing- tik tok, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube and through real people too

What can I do?

I’ve got traffic, I’ve got a few empty carts and I still have zero bucks to use cause I’m still in HS

My link to my store is https://warriorsinblue.com/

Sorry, for being everywhere on this as I write kinda wildly when it’s not advertising or on my store

Remember that users are not always driven by the price. On our blog, we describe the problem of cart abandonment.

Hi ,

I have gone through your store. Your store looks good.

Hi @LW41

This is Clever Ads, we create free, custom-made Google eCommerce ads campaigns for your Shopify store.

We would love to be able to help you start your drop-shipping store.

The good news is that we strongly believe that you are in the right place in terms of starting a drop-shipping store with Shopify.

  1. The first step would be to create your Shopify store.

Creating your Shopify store is instant and takes as little as 5 minutes! Choose a store theme that aligns well with your store’s goals and products. I see you already have one!!

  1. Have you decided what products you will be selling?

We recommend you conduct exhaustive product research. Check what kind of products are selling well and whether or not you have too many competitors in your market. It’s always good to focus on a niche market rather than selling too general of products. The more general and common your product is, the more competition you’ll have. Some great suggestions on conducting product research is Google Trends and Google Keyword Planner.

If so, we can move on to the next step.

  1. Find the right suppliers for your store.

While there are a lot of worldwide suppliers out there, the most common scenario for new Shopify dropshipping stores is to use Aliexpress as their main supplier. Aliexpress has very reasonable worldwide shipping time and cost and an extensive variety of products to choose from. If you find another supplier that suits your needs better, you can always go with an alternative.

  1. Promote, advertise and market your products to bring traffic and conversions.

There are several ways to bring traffic to your store including through organic traffic, paid traffic, social media traffic, direct traffic, etc. I would say the most powerful channels to do this are Google Ads and Facebook Ads. Carrying out good marketing campaigns is a very complicated subject that can costs thousands of dollars, but it doesn’t always have to be this way. You’d have to first to an extensive search on the best keywords to place your site at the top of the search list, and then you can choose to create search ads, display ads, shopping ads, among others. There are several companies and agencies that specialize in marketing, don’t rule them out. In the end, your marketing efforts are the determining factor of whether you get any traffic to your store or not, so we recommend you invest a lot of time in researching the best marketing strategy for your store!

Here is a Google Ads FREE code you can start for your campaigns.

Hi @LW41 , thank you for your question. We understand how you feel somehow when there are many things to do for a newbie in e-commerce business. We suggest that before spending on ads, you should spend more time on getting your website ready.

1. No clear structure on your website

We could not see needed sections being organized on your website. Also, you lack lots of important ones such as menu bar, collections, about us, etc. We suggest you go through those articles in Shopify Learn hub regarding this. You can refer to this post first.

2. Your whole product idea for the store

As of now, we do not really understand the what your store is selling, as the header image gives off the gamer vibe, but different product types constantly appeared and it confused us every time we scrolled down (knives, scuba diving equipment, baby doll set, etc). The disconnection and unrelation of those products cannot persuade visitors. We suggest y0u re-check your whole business idea.

Hi @LW41 ,

How are you? For a new store, your initial goal is to be able to hit the following milestone:

  1. Have monthly traffic of at least 2000 visitors.
  2. Have a conversion rate of at least 2%.

One of the few things that you should do is to check your abandoned cart check out and see if there are any issues (errors) if a customer attempts to make a payment. If there is, then it will be shown in the abandoned cart section.

You can use Shopify’s built-in abandoned cart emails and send them discounts as an attempt to recover them and convince them to go back to your store.

Since you are using Facebook ads, consider doing AD retargeting. AD retargeting involves using the data from your previous ad campaign to tweak (retarget) your next ads. This one can take some time to master and involves a little bit of trial and error but it definitely gives great results if done correctly. You can check this article from Shopify - Facebook Retargeting: How to Win Back Your Almost-Customers.
