Why am I still being charged after cancelling my account?

I have recently been getting charged for the past 4 months for my Shopify account subscription after cancelling it months earlier. I have been getting charged each month for this and want to dispute these charges as I cancelled my shops and see I am still getting charged. Need to get contacted for this ASAP.

Hi there, @gm6 .

The first thing I would do here is to use our store finding tool, to ensure 100% there are no other stores created using any of your email addresses that these fees could be connected to. It is very common that a person might create multiple free trial stores, and maybe forget to close all of them! Looking over the CSV file you have connected, it appears as though the store mentioned here is not currently closed.

In order for payments to stop completely, you must elect to close your store. You will receive no further bills from Shopify after closing your store provided there are no outstanding charges. The process for closing the store can only be done by the store owner, for a store with no outstanding invoices. The steps are as follows:

  1. From your Shopify admin, go to Settings > Plan.
  2. Click Deactivate store.
  3. If applicable, review the options to switch to the Pause and build plan, or start a new store.
4.If you still want to deactivate, then click Deactivate store.
  4. Select a reason for the deactivation, and then click Continue.
  5. Enter your password, and then click Deactivate now.
  6. You receive an email to confirm that your store’s deactivated. You can still re-open your store or view your past bills, and your store’s information is guaranteed for 2 years.

You can reach out to live support to request a refund if you wish, however this is by no means a guarantee. Our live support can be reached via our support portal here. Simply select the relevant topics until the live support options appear, you will then be connected to a live support agent. I trust this helps, thank you!
