When customers add items into their cart the products are not visible. The total accurately reflects the amount for all of the products added, however the individual products and prices are not displayed. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Hey @NateDauphin .
Thanks for reaching out.
Could you let us know which theme you are using and share your online store URL? As this context will allow us to take a closer look into the issue that you are experiencing.
If you are unsure about which theme is live on your store, you can navigate to the Theme Editor and select the three dots that are located towards the top left of the page. I took a screenshot of my test store to show you the section I am referring to:
’
Additionally, if you happen to know of any example products that are not displaying on the cart page of your online store that would be very helpful.
Looking forward to your response.
@Ollie we are using the story theme. phoenix-wine.myshopify.com
It appears to be all products. On my screen it will flash up and then disappear each time I refresh the cart. Thank you.
However, when you click to “check out” the product appear individually on the check out page, so it appears to only be a “cart” issue.
@Ollie I appreciate your response and hope you will be able to help us find a quick solution.
Hey @NateDauphin .
Thanks for the quick reply in this matter!
Looking into the URL provided, I am receiving the same issue on my side. I took a look into the coding of the theme and noticed that this is a third-party theme that is designed and designed by Groupthought. Since Shopify did not create the theme - we are a bit unfamiliar with the style of coding that is being used on the Cart page. With that being said, it would be best to direct this inquiry to the developers of the theme as they would be in the best position to provide additional support.
I did come across to finding their Contact Us page and wanted to provide it.
Let me know if you have any additional questions.
@KetanKumar is this something you have come across before?
@Ollie thank you very much for looking into this. Unfortunately, we separated with the original developers of the site a while back. Are you saying that due to the customization of our website from a basic template it will be too difficult to find a quick fix? If so, what would you recommend. This appears to be the only issue we are having at the moment.
Hey @NateDauphin .
That’s a great question! In order for our internal team to make coding changes on to the theme that is being used, it will need to be developed by Shopify as detailed in our free design time for Shopify themes. Did you make any custom coding changes that you made recently and noticed this occurring?
If so, you can choose to duplicate your theme before you roll back to an older version of your theme to see if that allows the products to be displayed within the Cart page of the online store. The reason I would suggest duplicating the theme, is to ensure that no further issues will be created once you have reverted to an older version of the theme.
Let me know if that does the trick.
@Ollie how can I go about trying to get this resolved via the free design time for Shopify themes? I know that our website functions mainly off of a standard Shopify theme, but has had some custom work to it. What that consists of I wouldn’t be able to tell you. To the best of my knowledge we have not recently made any changes to the code. I would like to keep my hands off the coding as much as possible.
If it is an issue that extends beyond the free design time for Shopify themes I would like help finding someone to contract to fix this. With my limited knowledge of coding I imagine this is a relatively simple fix. Regardless time is of the essence and your advice moving forward as quickly as possible is continuously appreciated. Thank you.
Hey again, @NateDauphin .
Thanks for reaching back out!
I would suggest to attempt duplicating the theme and rolling the theme back to an earlier date as that may clear up the issue that you are experiencing on the cart page.
Since the Story theme is not developed directly by Shopify, our internal teams are unable to complete any coding due not being a supported theme.
In this case, if you are interested in hiring an individual that can assist you further, I would suggest reaching out to our Shopify Experts. You can create a job or you can use the search bar to look for a specific service.
Let me know what you think.
