Why can't I activate the international market feature?

Hi guys,
I am having a problem i cant activate the International market…
Does anybody have an idea why?

HI @ReamLasry

Pls add shipping zone, then you will be able to activate market

Hi, @ReamLasry .

Thank you for reaching out, and thank you, @Kani , for your help!

You must add shipping rates for the countries you want to ship to. Once your shipping rates are entered, you can activate international markets.

Please let me know if you have any further questions! I would love to learn more about your business. What type of products do you sell?

Hi Emily!

I am trying to enable international shipping - from US to Canada. I’ve followed the tutorial you have linked here but am still having errors on the store front side (when customers go to check out, Canada is still not an option). I set the rates to be auto calculated by USPS for shipping to Canada. Do I need to upgrade my plan to include Canadian post as a carrier? Please advise

Thank you

Jess

Hi, @croptopband .

Thank you for reaching out and providing that information.

Can you send me your URL so I can see your checkout on my end? If you have rates set up for Canada, it should show as an option in the checkout. Let me test on my end to see what the issue may be!

Hi!

thanks for the speedy response!

my url is www.thecroptopband.com

when you say rates what do you mean? I have just clicked that Shopify use USPS calculated rates. is there something I need to do with Canadian post rates and if so, how do I go about doing that. It doesn’t give me Canada post as a carrier in the drop down when setting up rates.

thanks for your help on this

Jess

Hi, @croptopband .

Thank you for your reply and for sharing your URL with me.

I tested your checkout on my end and saw only the United States as a country to ship to. This most likely means that there are no rates set up for Canada. Do you have a shipping zone created for Canada? You can do this by going to Settings > Shipping and delivery > General Profile and clicking create shipping zone. Once a shipping zone is created, you can set shipping rates.

Please let me know if you have any further questions and if this works for you!

Take care,

Hi Emily!

Yes I have Canada has a shipping zones in my general along with US.

for the rates for Canada, I have selected USPS to calculate the rates for first class package.

What should I do next?

Hi, @croptopband .

Thank you for providing that information. You may need to select standard shipping as an option, as shipping options will not appear in the checkout if the first-class package is unavailable. Please try adding standard shipping and see if that works! If not, please send me a screenshot of the shipping rate page, and I can try to find the missing rate.

Please let me know if you have any questions!

Thanks Emily.

If I select standard shipping, Will I need to come up with a standard rate myself? I wanted the rate to be calculated at checkout as I do not know the rates to ship to Canada.

thanks for all this info!

Hi, @croptopband .

Thank you for your reply!

Yes, if you have carrier-calculated shipping in the USA, it will also work in Canada. Make sure you have a few rates selected, standard, first class, express, etc. so that a shipping option always shows in the checkout.

Please let me know if this works for you, I can always test on my end too.

Morning Emily!

Yes I have calculated rates by USPS selected and underneath rate, I have all 3 services as an option first class package, priority mail express, priority mail International. Should I send you a screen shot? Is there an email I can send you to see my back end.

Thanks so much

Hi, @croptopband !

I hope you are doing well.

Perfect, I was able to test this on my end, and I could enter a Canadian address and shipping options, and rates did show up for me, so you set them up correctly! Due to our Community being a public forum, I don’t have the ability to look into specific account information. If you did want a Support Advisor to double-check your shipping rates, you could reach out to them by chat, requesting a callback, or email, and they would be happy to do so.

Please let me know if you have any further questions!
