I want to add a video that I created without using another source.
Shopify states MP4 file is okay, (see image below) but all the answers I read on this forum state that you have to use Vimeo or YouTube URL.

Since the âhow toâ has already been addressed and you were able to upload the video already, then Iâd like to take a moment and touch on why we suggest using YouTube or Vimeo for adding videos. There are some limitations when it comes to uploading video files on Shopify, such as the file size and video lengths, which in turn may prevent you from being able to use the original video that you had originally intended. For this reason, we recommend using YouTube or Vimeo as you can easily exceed the file size and video length limitations as well as take up less bandwidth directly on your store. On that note, the following file requirements can serve as guidelines for when making your videos and uploading them successfully on Shopify.
Video file requirements

| Resolution | Maximum resolution of 4K |
| Video length | Maximum video length of 10 minutes |
| File formats | MOV and MP4 |

I realize that this is a year old, but I am having a similar problem. I am using video files for products that are hosted by a wholesaler. Is there a way to import these videos by providing the URL or must I download them and then manually add them to my Shopify siteâs âFilesâ to get this to work?
