Why can't I view my online store purchased from Godaddy?

I have bought my domain name from Godaddy.

I cannot view my store on line, no matter which browser or device I use.

What can I do?

Regards

Ivo

Hi, @ID2 .

Thanks for reaching out to the Shopify Community.

To gather a bit more context on the issue, could you share information on the following:

  • Please share your store URL. I’d like to check the DNS settings and replicate the issue you’re experiencing.
  • Were you able to successfully connect your domain to Shopify? Take a look at our connecting a third-party domain to Shopify guide for more information.
  • Can you share a screenshot of the issue?
  • Are you able to access your Shopify admin?
  • What browser(s) and device(s) have you tried?

I look forward to your reply and learning more.

Hi

thank you for you reply.

The URL is: https://kalosto.co.uk/ (by the way, I have noticed that my URL is missing “www”, could be that the issue?)

I can access the admin of my shopify account.

I have used on my pc Chrome and Firefox browsers and on my Android smartphone I used also Chrome and Firefox.

Please find underneath pictures of Chrome and Firefox search of kalosto.co.uk

Regards

Ivo

Thanks for your reply and for sharing these screenshots, @ID2 .

Are there any error messages next to your domain? You can check this within your Shopify admin > Settings > Domains section.

I’ve searched the DNS records for your domain kalosto.co.uk and it looks as though they’re not pointing to Shopify’s records. Your domain has multiple A records which affect the browser/system and therefore users are unable to connect to your website. To fix this, you need to remove any other A Records for the root domain. I’ll share the steps below to remove any additional A Records and successfully point your third-party domain to Shopify.

Changing your DNS records in your third-party domain provider account:

  • First, log into your third-party domain provider account.
  • Find the DNS settings section or domain management area.
  • Point the A record to the Shopify IP address: 23.227.38.65
  • If necessary, change the Host name to the [email removed] symbol.
  • Delete any other A records on the domain if there are any present.
  • Point the CNAME record with the name www to: shops.myshopify.com
  • Please note: Any updates to DNS or nameserver settings for a domain can take up to 48 hours to propagate across the internet.

For more information, please see our resource on connecting your third-party domain to Shopify manually.

Hello @ID2

I would like to give you the recommendation to support you.

DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN can happen for several reasons:

  • A web browser cannot locate the target website because the domain is not registered or has expired.
  • The domain is not pointing to any IP address.
  • There is a misconfiguration in the DNS settings of the user’s computer, so it cannot resolve the domain.
  • A VPN or antivirus software interferes with the network settings.
  • The issue comes from the internet provider.

On Google Chrome, you will see a message that says This site can’t be reached if you are experiencing the DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN error. Other browsers will have their own messages, which we will show at the end of this tutorial.

Here are two methods to check the reason behind DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN:

  1. Check if Domain Is Active

  2. Test the Website via a Proxy Server

As the DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN error may show up due to issues with the website, the client’s computer, or the internet connection, the solution will naturally depend on this root cause.

Let’s look at the 9 ways to fix the DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN error message:

  1. Flush the DNS Cache

  2. Release and Renew the IP Address

  3. Change the DNS Servers

  4. Restart the DNS Client Service

  5. Check the Local Hosts File

  6. Reset Chrome Flags

  7. Disable Antivirus or VPN

  8. Temporarily Turn Off Your CDN

  9. Reboot Internet Connection
