Why has phone support been discontinued for merchants?

I noticed that the phone support option seems to be discontinued why is that, exactly how do merchant get help if there is no call back support???

Shopify does still offer phone support, but as callbacks now. In order to schedule a callback, please login to your account through the Shopify Help Center. If by chance there are no callback spots available at the time (you’ll know this if you do not see a callback option on the contact page), a Support Advisor will be happy to help via live chat or email.
