Why i can't select my new template page in pages?

Hello,

Im trying to select new alternate template page that i created but it’s not appears in pages to select.

I’m using Cascade theme - if it will be helpful. I haven’t published my website yet, maybe that could be a reason?

I also thought maybe because this theme is not in “Current theme” - it’s not showing alternate template?

To create alternate template i followed instruction that i found. Maybe i do something wrong? Here is steps how i create new template:

yes, can you please create template first on live theme after do you have select new page template

@KetanKumar - You were absolutely right. After i created template in primary theme i could select that template from Cascade theme. Thank you!

Hi @KetanKumar ! I have the same problem.

I’ve created a duplicate of the Cascade page template following these instructions. My website is not online yet and I’m working on a child theme of Cascade.

Could you please help me to find a solution?

Your description of ‘primary theme’ was what helped me understand the solution rather than the ‘live theme’ as given by @KetanKumar hahaha

Thanks, this helped! But now, how do I change my primary theme to the child theme? Currently, I have Dawn as the main theme, but I want to change it to Focal.
