Why is free shipping still available for orders under $250?

Hi,

I already set the shipping rate to be 7.50$ for orders below 250$ however when customers are placing orders below 250$, they are still getting free shipping! please advise if you experience similar issue

Did you use the discount option on Shopify backend or just normal shipping settings or App/

Hi there @Ismail_2021 . I’m happy to look into this with you! I just have a few troubleshooting questions to start.

  • Did you set up your shipping rates following these steps here?
  • Do you have any other shipping rates set up? For example, is there a shipping rate for “free shipping” listed under any of your shipping zones? Do you have any shipping rates for customers who spend more than $250?
  • Are you hoping to offer free shipping to customers who meet certain conditions? For example, for customers who spend over a certain amount?
  • Also, do you have any “free shipping” discount codes set up?

It sounds like you may have a “free shipping” rate set up with conditions that are causing it to still appear when orders are below $250.00. You would be able to double check your rates and the conditions for each rate by going to Settings > Shipping and delivery and clicking Manage under the Shipping section. Here, you should see your shipping zones and all of the rates created for each zone.

It’s also possible that you have a “free shipping” discount code set up. If you have this discount set up customers would be able to enter the code at checkout to receive free shipping. You can read more about free shipping discount codes on this page. You can also double check what discount codes you have set up by going to Discounts in your Shopify admin and viewing the Discount codes tab.
