Is anyone here familiar using GCASH? I used to pay a subscription linked to my GCASH however just this December I got a failed transaction. I also got a failed payment getting a domain directly from shopify.
I called GCASH services and confirmed everything is in working order and has no restrictions.
I added another card details but it still won’t push through.
Shopify requires you to pay your Shopify bill using either a valid credit card from Mastercard, Visa, or American Express, a debit card co-branded with Mastercard, Visa, or American Express, and in some regions, PayPal is also accepted. Due to GCASH being a mobile wallet, it is not one of our accepted payment methods. You will need to connect an accepted payment method to your account for your payment to be accepted.
Please let me know if you have any further questions!
I already had several shopify transactions using my gcash wallet. It was only dated December that I had an issue.
If any shopify should have at least considered accepting this in their system to make it work since I only had an issue with my gcash using shopify. Any other merchant does not have an issue with my mobile wallet.
I am happy to provide this feedback to our team, as I understand how important it is to use your GCASH wallet to pay for your subscription. Currently, we do only accept a valid credit card from Mastercard, Visa, or American Express to pay recurring fees. This is outlined in our terms of service agreement.
Please let me know if you have any further questions!
Hi emily, i recently tried using our GCash Visa Card to pay for the shopify billing but it also doesnt work. We tried including the same card via our Paypal but also doesnt work. May i know if there’s a lead time for the cards to be valid for payments or shall we wait?
As mentioned by Emily above, GCash would not be a valid payment method for paying Shopify Bills. You can check out more information hereon what type of payment methods you can use.
At this time, we do not have any timelines of if and when this service will be provided. In the meantime I have gone ahead and added your feedback along with the others for our developers to review. Hopefully this might be an option they consider in the future!
