Anyone have a problem with Chrome, and Home Admin Page going blank? When entering Admin site, the home page flashes and then goes away, even thou the link to Status Page report says everything is running fine. Support says it is just fine on their system. But it is a blank screen with left menu, which I can’t use. Spent a full day checking everything out with internet, Computer Geek, and Support, and got no where. I can open Admin only in Incognito, thank heaven, BUT not in regular Chrome, and 2 days ago everything was just fine, and next day regular chrome didn’t work. All other programs work just fine, only Shopify not working right.
oh sorry for that issue can you please contact [here](http://24/7%20Support24/7 Support)
No “contact here” doen’t work. tried all 3 times you sent.
Hi, @SaskoDist .
Sorry to hear you are experiencing issues when trying to access your Shopify admin. Earlier, Shopify experienced a bit of downtime where merchants were seeing an error message when trying to access their admin and checkouts. Our developers have since resolved this issue and you should be able to proceed without issues.
Before logging into your admin I’d like to suggest trying a few troubleshooting steps that I’ve listed below.
Troubleshooting Steps:
- Clear your cache and cookies on your browser. After this, completely reboot the browser.
- Try a different web browser, as well as incognito or private windows to rule out any browser issues.
- Ensure the web browser is up to date on the latest version (we don’t support every browser, but we do support these ones)
- Try another device, like another computer or mobile phone.
- Try on the Shopify Mobile app; this is usually the best step to try as it also rules out device issues.
If you’re still experiencing issues after going through the above troubleshooting steps you can reach out to our Live Support via chat, email or scheduling a callback. We’ll need to take a closer look into your account to identify any issues.
Everyone keeps telling me to clear cache & Cookies, which I have done several times, plus a dozen other things over and over. Guess what, none worked. As soon as I login, the Home screen shows up and then disappears. Not only on my Desktop but on my laptop too, and in Chrome and FireFox. I had my computer guy here, he updated everything. So as everyone keeps telling me, it’s my computer, then why my Laptop that is not connected to my Desktop. All those troublehsooting steps has been told to me twice by Shopify Support, which is why I came here, because someone else must have had this problem before. I have check settings over and over.
I am having the exact issue and have tried all the things suggested above. The orders page and the admin page will flash for a second and disappear. Works fine in incognito but I hate going through the whole signing in routine. Any fixes yet? This is very annoying and counter productive.
Thank goodness I am not the only one. Tec support has been NO HELP in anyway. Please if you haven’t reported it to them, do so, as then they might understand that it is THEIR problem. Email to Support@shopify.com
Same issue here. Latest Firefox. Reset computer. Fix this Shopify. It’s not a user problem.
Received Email from Shopify support, stating that they found the problem and that the issue has been resolved. Again they need us to clear cookies & cache to “give the system a refresh” Did that again and guess what, it still doesn’t work. Home page still disappears!!! Did anyone else get it to work right?
Nope, after reading your reply I did what was recommended and still the same. The page flashes and disappears. Very annoying!
Thank you for your response and trying the above troubleshooting methods.
We understand you’re still experiencing an issue with loading your store admin and orders page.
Could you please ensure you do not have any firewalls, VPNs (virtual private networks) enabled on your device or network blocking Shopify. Check that there are no pop ups being blocked in the web browser.
Lastly, try another internet connection (switching to a cellular network on a phone rather than wifi, for example) and restart your router by turning it on and off.
Hello,
I ended up having to install Chrome as a work around. My site worked perfectly on latest Firefox until this happened.
This should not be a users issue. No VPN here. It is NOT a firewall issue. Clearing cookies and restarting browsers is not a reasonable solution for people running complex sessions and open tabs and logins on a browser.
It means you have to shut down everything, restart and re-log in all your working tabs. We need to know why this situation happened on the Shopify side to begin with. It’s random and it just started happening out of the blue.
Also, why is is that the very latest Safari - that can ONLY be run on OS Monterrey, is the only Safari version that Shopify works on? You have to understand that many users cannot update OS’s to the latest because of other issues with software, etc.
There needs to be a version of Safari that still runs Shopify on OSX Mojave at least.
These are all new situations that began on the Shopify side. Have a look a the other comments regarding this issue. People are frustrated.
Thank you,
-Ross
Doing the same thing in Chrome too.
my firewall never was changed between when Shopify worked and didn’t work. I don’t even know what a VPN is, and if it was a problem now some of my other programs or vendor pages would have a problem too. they don’t. Nothing else on my computer has a problem. My Network supplier just ran new updates during this problem, and I still have it. my Equipment is very new from Spectrum and I run on 5G. I can’t go to another internet connection as Spectrum is the only one available in our area. My hot spot has to run thru my WiFi, because we live under a Version Tower and if I turn off the Wifi on phone and try and use data only, it doesn’t work, signal not good.
Many others are having the same problems.
To echo what other have said, my firewall and cookie clearing was never an issue. To be clearing cookies every time we are going to access Shopify admin and then do our google ads and other platforms’ business is not a feasible solution. As Ross stated above, to offer that as a solution when this was never an issue before is asinine. This is on Shopify’s side not on the users with multiple unique setups.
I have been having the same issue for several days now. I have tried everything in this and other threads to no avail. If I read clear cookies one more time I’m gonna puke. Any news from Shopify about fixing this? This is not a free service and paying for it with most of the system being unusable is not a good business practice.
To everyone Who is having the Home Admin Page Going Blank. If you have somekind of Anti-Tracking set up on your system, try turning it off, and see if that keeps the Home page from disappearing. I set mine to “Trusted” and the home page stayed up. I have had that set to “No Tracking” to keep Analytics from counting me when I’m working on it, since I started with Shopify, so they changed something. But if it solves your problem then just keep it at “Trusted Site” or what ever you program uses, and see if that works. Hope this helps others, and Support, check what you changed that caused this to start causing problems.
@SaskoDist , you were on target. I had the Ghostery - Privacy Ad Blocker app installed and as soon as I disabled it fixed the issue. You would think Shopify should know this instead of telling everyone to clear cookies…Thanks a lot Sasko!
