Why is my new ecommerce account asking for multiple sign-ups?

I just signed up for Shopify yesterday and tried to connect a custom domain registered with a 3rd party. I did the dns settings and added txt records, etc, per instructions but something has gone wrong.

First, when I’m logged into my account the site asks me to sign up for a paid plan for 3 months for $1.00

I did that yesterday but today, it’s asking me to sign up again. I only have one account registered, but I did have a free account at first. Did I mistakenly create a 2nd account I’m unaware of when signing up for the paid plan? I doubt it because I never signed up twice with the same email.

Second, when I go to my stores, I have 6 stores listed under my account.! These are all with misc, domains. How did this happen? I don’t know.

Right now, being new to Shopify software, I need to know step by step where to go to start my store. Basically a primer on navigating the site. I have not found a video for beginners to learn this. Any help files and instructions on the Shopify site have been confusing.

FYI, I am NOT a beginner at website design and hosting. I have designed several websites for myself and others over the years using Wordpress, I can navigate page builders, hosting, custom domains etc. etc. However, I’ve never had experience dealing with shopping cart software, nor shopify.

PLEASE, I need some guidance. I don’t think I should be hiring anyone to help right now. First I don’t want to spend the money buy also, as I’m paying for a plan, I would expect basic help for new users to be free. Of course advanced stuff I’d expect to pay for if I couldn’t do it myself, but this is just
