Why is PayPal showing as inactive in Shopify even after correct setup?

Hi,

I’m reaching out to help others with the same issue : PayPal showing as inactive in Shopify

Issue: PayPal showing as inactive in Shopify though set up correctly in PayPal

  1. I click activate for PayPal express in Shopify
  2. This takes me to a PayPal Login
  3. Login to PayPal and it tells me that my PayPal is already linked to my Shopify store
  4. There is a button in PayPal to “go back to Shopify”
  5. This button does not work
  6. Go back to Shopify manually and PayPal still shows as Inactive

Fix: Repeat steps 1-4

PayPal “Go Back to Shopify” button still doesn’t work
Right click on screen
Select translate
Choose whichever is the native language to the shop location
Button now works and returns you to Shopify
PayPal now shows as Active in Shopify

It seems when using a Chrome Browser their Auto translate Function breaks the “Back to Shopify” button needed to complete the setup process.
