Our client has a store with 10 products live, we want to give a free gift when they enter the discount code “Free1weekgift”. The gift is active but hidden in the store.
Whenever we are entering the discount code it is showing the following error attached.
Please look into this asap.

Thank you for the screenshot showing the error message. This is a common confusion with the Buy X Get Y discount code.
The discount code options built into Shopify do not automatically add items to the shopping cart on the customers behalf. In order for this discount to work the customer needs to have the eligible item in their cart and then they can use the discount code.
If you want the item added to the cart automatically you will need to either have that custom coded into your theme or you can use an app like these: Search results for free gift app – Shopify App Store.
