Why isn't my Amazon Pay order generating a payout?

Topic summary

An order marked as paid via Amazon Pay shows a confirmation number and processed status in the Shopify order timeline, but it did not appear in the next Shopify payout, unlike other orders.

Support indicated the payout may be available through the merchant’s Amazon account, and noted some merchants have recently been onboarded to use Amazon Pay through Shopify Payments. Clarification was requested on how the store’s Amazon Pay wallet is configured (standalone Amazon Pay vs. integrated under Shopify Payments).

The merchant is unsure of the configuration because the staff member who set it up has left, and has deactivated Amazon Pay to prevent recurrence.

Status: unresolved. Key unknowns include where the funds were disbursed and whether Amazon Pay is routed to Amazon or Shopify payouts.

Outcome so far: Amazon Pay disabled. Next step requested in the thread was to provide setup details; this remains outstanding, leaving the payout location unconfirmed.

In the order log timeline for this order, it shows Customer paid with Amazon Pay. Confirmation # was given, and payment was processed. But no confirmation of funds appeared in the log for my next payout like it usually does. All my other orders have processed correctly and generated a payout, which i’ve received. Why didn’t this one generate a payout?

Hi @SuperFly22

It sounds as though your payout will be available through your Amazon account. However, we’ve recently onboarded a group of merchants to offer Amazon Pay through their Shopify Payments account. Can you tell me how you’ve set up Amazon Pay wallet in your store?

I’m not sure, as the person who set this up is no longer with us. I’ve deactivated Amazon pay to keep this from happening again. Thank you
