Your Payouts From Shopify Payments Are On Hold While We Review Your Account

They stopped my payouts the day I was supposed to receive my money now I can’t do anything and I have bills today I reached out to support and they said they sent and email and I have yet to receive and email if they’re doing a review they need to do so fast I’m a new seller and already dislike their process

Hello, good morning. Be very careful from now on. I recommend that you use another payment provider in the meantime, since the same thing has happened to me. On December 27, Shopify payments were frozen, telling me that it would take 2 to 5 business days to verify my account. They insisted that it was a routine verification process that everyone had to go through within Shopify and that my account was fine. They also told me that I could continue to receive payments with Shopify payments. Well, today, January 4, I receive an email in which they close my Shopify account and they don’t give me the almost €5,000 of my Shopify payments balance until May. May??? How? How do I place my orders now? How do I pay bills? What do I do until May? And above all, what about my clients?

My customers will be angry, understandably, they will be angry and report me, and I can’t place orders or issue refunds because Shopify doesn’t give me my money until May. I try by all means to talk to them, no one answers, and when they respond, they don’t tell me anything to help me. Basically, everyone says the same thing.

They look like robots. This is an improper appropriation of money which I will have to report to the police. Shopify has disappointed me. So much good publicity to be totally the opposite. I’ll have to report the police with my lawyer, I’ll finally get triple in the trial, so I don’t understand why Shopify is doing these things.

Wtf how isthis possible why is this legal and why are they acting like they
can’t fix it right now

?  I don’t think it’s legal. No institution is allowed to do this. This has a name. IMPROPER APPROPRIATION OF GOODS, only a bank can do this, for a seizure, debt or a fine. And the bank doesn’t even do it, they don’t have authorization. Therefore, if Shopify IS NOT A BANK, AND Shopify payments IS NOT EITHER, I don’t understand what they are doing. They can’t keep my money, but they’re doing it. They tell me that, if there is no chargeback, in May (in 5 months) they give me the money they owe me ? :joy: I don’t know if I should cry and laugh. How do I place the orders? How can I not have any chargebacks if they don’t pay me the money with which I have to place those orders???
This is frustrating, sad. I’m really disappointed with Shopify. I don’t know if I can say this here, but they are thieves. I sincerely hope that the same thing doesn’t happen to you as to me

This is f*cling ridiculous and I want my money Immediately!

Hi, @Jayyglizzy573 !

Thanks for reaching out in our Community forums and sharing your concern. While I understand that this is not ideal, I’m sure we can get to the bottom of this for you as fast as possible.

As mentioned, this is indeed a standard review for your account which will need some time to be completed. Sometimes it can be solved on its own, or sometimes you will need to upload a few documents to verify the review. Since you have not seen an email, can you see any red or orange banners on the home screen of your admin section after you log in? These banners usually flag what the issue can be with your Shopify Payments account. Do you see anything asking you for additional information? If you weren’t sure, you can take a screenshot of the top of your homepage and I can help you with identifying what the banners mean.

If you have already submitted the documents, then our team will review them and the banner will be removed, if more information is needed, then you will receive a new banner on your admin.

I know that this is not ideal as you just started your business, but I can assure you that our team is doing our best to work on this for you.

…. You always said the same to everyone but it’s not always true

This is the screen I get please help

I’ve also contemplated the legality of this. We are in the same situation and we have reached out to customer support daily with them just saying to give them more time.

Can you please give me an Instagram account so we can talk privately about that? I’m going to the police to report Shopify. They do it to a lot of people.

I messaged you privately.
