Shopify Froze My Payouts For No Reason For 30+ Days | No Answer To My Tickets

I started selling on Shopify and using Shopify payments.

Everything went well for a while but for about a month Shopify froze my payouts and I get this message “Your payouts from Shopify Payments are temporarily on hold while we review your account. Your Shopify Payments account is under review and needs to be verified. Review should be completed within two business days and we will reach out to you if further information is required. Your customers can still checkout while your payouts are on hold.”

Over 4 weeks have passed. I opened 6 tickets and every time they told me “this matter has been escalated to the payments team and they will reach out to you via email in 24-48 hours”. But I never got any email from them.

Now I’m in a position of not being able to ship my products because I have no more money to pay the fulfillment center. Payments for the past 4 weeks are with them and they will not release it to me, nor give any reason why nor communicate with me in any way.

My clients are requesting refunds already, which will result in chargebacks, consequently getting my Shopify payments closed. All because of Shopify.

Did this happen to anyone else? Did they release the funds? After how long?

Never use Shopify payments! This is is my lesson from this experience.
