Abandoned Checkout Email Sent to client even though they placed an order

Hopefully somebody can advise. This isn’t the first time somebody mentioned this.

My father in law forwarded me our automation email saying that he hadn’t checked out, even though he had.

I have no idea what setting this could have, or if it is a bug.

Any assistance would be great.

This is just a theory. He might have multiple sessions in your website with an item in a cart, and he checked out on the one session only. The abandoned check out settings can be change when you to Admin store > Settings > Notifications > Orders > Abandon checkout, click the “check out settings”. You can change the time on when to send the email.

Thanks a lot for the assistance. One of those things perhaps. My father in law didn’t check out in one sitting, but he did checkout long before the email was sent, so not sure if changing the timing will make a huge difference, but I will try that and see if anybody else messages me.
