Who else has experienced this? Has it been resolved?
I am trying to transfer ownership of my store. When I go to transfer it, I get the following error message:
You have an active Balance account. To transfer ownership, please transfer out any funds in Balance and contact Shopify Support to transfer ownership.
I check my Active Balance Account, it is $0. I contacted Shopify support multiple times and it still has not been resolved. This is now day 4 and they still have not resolved the issue, and I cannot transfer store ownership.
Every time I reach out to support, it is the same response: Your ticket has been escalated to our business operations team. A specialist from the team will be contacting you directly via email to provide an update.
It is going on Day 4 with no updates or changes.
Has anyone else experienced this and what was the outcome?
I am going through the exact same experience. Developed a store for a client, ready to transfer ownership and it gives me the same error. Been over a week reaching out to support multiple times a day and getting the same response every time.
This is very frustrating as this has been months of work and now a business is on standstill until it can be resolved, but they are not offering any resolutions. Years working with Shopify and this is the first time I feel let down by the platform and their team.
So did you end up resolving this? I have the same exact issue now. Trying to sell my store and Im probably gonna have to keep the buyer waiting and by then they won’t want to buy it anymore.
This is an area shopify needs to improve in definitely.
I’m Experiencing this issue with my clients accounts. Case open from July 11th. 18 Days Past. No one ever contact me back of found resolution to this problem. Contact support 4 times. terrible customer service very surprising from Shopify. Cannot resolve this issue with $0 Balance under the account.
