Added to cart but low conversions

Hi, my store name is provenzaboutique.com. I’m getting orders daily but I should be getting more since my added to cart numbers reach almost 20’s and I’m getting around 5 orders daily. Please help. Thanks.

Conversion rate is 0.7%

What law dictates that there must be more?

Even at the general stat of 1-2% conversion for big established brands , why isn’t a ~1:4~ onsite conversion a good thing.

Unless your burning more in ads than revenue nothing seems wrong.

Then thing to notice here is your not asking an actual specific question to address a specific business problem.

Your basically just asking the cliche of “how get more sales” which is what every merchant wants to do, though alot fail at any sales.

Put more effort into the problem statement , vague questions get vague answers.

Do the investments: do the homework, do the analytics, do the ab testing, do the asking of customers for feedback.

Hi Maury,

One thing that I could add from our perspective, being a Product analytics app is to look at detailed data about your product offering, to track which products are generating views (and no add to carts), which products have low (or high) conversion or abandonment rates. This visibility helps you as store owner to be able to take actions in improving the product offer, the pricing or other factors that in the end would result in an improved overall conversion rate. The devil is in the details, its important to understand your users and how they interact with your products.

I can recommend, that if you are looking to improve conversion rates keep these in mind. Take a look at our demo (no signup needed) to have a better understanding about the kind of measurements that can be used to track, understand and ultimately improve your product offering and of course your store performance: https://demo.datma.io/shopify/reporting/metrics/1416 - this a direct link to a report with all products that includes conversions, add to carts, abandonment rates, but feel free to look around what else is there.

Hi @Maury10

Here are steps to improve conversions from “Add to Cart” to completed orders:

1-Optimize Checkout Experience:

  • Ensure a smooth, mobile-friendly checkout process.
  • Offer multiple payment options (e.g., credit cards, PayPal, etc.).
  • Remove unnecessary fields or distractions during checkout.

2-Review Pricing and Shipping:

  • Ensure competitive pricing.
  • Highlight free or affordable shipping options.
  • Display clear shipping timelines and costs upfront.

3-Use Abandoned Cart Recovery:

  • Enable abandoned cart emails or SMS reminders in Shopify.
  • Offer discounts or incentives to encourage checkout.

4-Build Trust:

  • Add trust badges at checkout.
  • Showcase secure payment options.
  • Include product reviews and testimonials.

5-Improve Website Speed:

  • Test your site speed on tools like Google PageSpeed Insights.
  • Optimize images and remove unnecessary scripts.

6-Conduct Surveys:

  • Use post-abandonment surveys to understand why customers aren’t completing purchases.

Implement these strategies to convert more “Add to Cart” actions into sales.

I hope this can answer your question.
