When you log in to a partner account you do not own and work on an App you do not own, you still have access to the Distribution. You are still presented with a link to edit the App Listing. Thing is, that is prohibited. So instead of either:

  1. not showing the link to the App Listing editing link

  2. showing a pertinent message to effect that you cannot edit the App Listing as you do not own it

The current UX is to redirect to a blank page, and the console shows the 401. That is not very developer/partner friendly and could likely use fixing.

Thank you for reporting this issue. It would be great if we could see an example of the bug so our teams can investigate this further. Would you mind creating a new support ticket via your partner dashboard with this additional context?

Where you mention that if you are not an owner, then you should not be allowed to edit the app listing; this is a permission that Team Members on the Partner account will have access to: https://help.shopify.com/en/partners/dashboard/account-access#:~:text=Manage%20public%20listing

You can also share an example and the screenshots here via the Community if you’d prefer. I can ensure that additional information is passed to our Partners team for further review.

I described the bug. When a partner without permissions to edit App Listings clicks the link to edit an App Listing, Shopify shows a blank page (in FF anyway), and the console logs out a 401.

You can go with that. If you need a movie made showing that off, I defer as I have a life, and I will not be snorting any grass to make that happen.
