Can changing the business entity location affect my online store?

Hello, I would like to inquire about (1) the business entity company we bound to shopify before is registered in China, but recently we are planning to relocate the company to Hong Kong, and I would like to ask whether we could directly update the business license in the Settings when the change occurs, and whether it will affect our existing shopify store. (2) Secondly, I noticed that Instagram and fb can’t be used in my current region after August. If we change to a Hong Kong company, won’t it be affected?

Typically, we would only collect business information from the Account Owner during their set up of the Shopify Payments gateway, as this is where company details are stored on our end. Seeing as China isn’t a supported region of Shopify Payments however, we wouldn’t have collected any of your business information on our end, when you were setting up your account. So if you’re using a third-party payment provider on your store, you’ll need to reach out to them to see if you will need to update any of your business information with them, as payment gateways tend to be region-specific and would have different rules and requirements for different regions.

In terms of your Shopify store details, seeing as you’ll be moving regions you’ll need to update your store information on your Shopify admin under Settings > Store details > Click Edit next to Billing information. From here, you can then make changes to your legal business name, if necessary, as well as your business’ address. If your business’ address has been changed to a Hong Kong location, keep in mind that there will be some features of Shopify that will now be available to you. One of them is Shopify Payments, our native payment processor.
