Csv file not bringing across images to the store this is a new store

csv file issue i have now deleted all products off my site as it is new but the issue i have is the csv file is not bringing the images across maybe because the images are sourced through a url via the csv file i think anyways but can someone help me figure this out please?

Hey @danderrick ,

Welcome to Shopify!

I’d be happy to help you troubleshoot this issue. When importing products to Shopify via a CSV file, the images should be hosted on a publicly accessible URL. That is, they should be behind an https:// protocol with no password protection or blocked by .htaccess rules. To do this, you can upload images to the Files page of the Shopify admin. The URLs generate automatically. After you click Upload files, you can select up to a couple of hundred images to upload in bulk.

Here are a few other things to check:

  1. Image URLs: Make sure the image URLs in your CSV file are correct and accessible. You can test this by trying to access the URL directly in your web browser.

  2. CSV Format: Check the format of your CSV file. The image URLs should be in a column titled “Image Src”. If you have multiple images for a single product, you can add them in new rows with the same handle and different “Image Src”.

  3. File Size: Your product CSV can’t exceed 15 MB. If you get an error when trying to upload a new CSV file, then verify that it doesn’t exceed the size limit. Your product images can be any size up to 5000 x 5000 px, or 25 megapixels.

If you have a CSV file that was exported from another store or came from another source, then verify that it matches the CSV file format. If the format doesn’t match, or if there are any missing headers, then the import fails. Shopify recommends using Google Sheets to view a formatted version of your CSV files.

HI i have changed the image section name to image src and it fixed the issue

The image section states thumbnail image url do i need to change this to ‘image src’?

Correct! The image URLs should be in a column titled “Image Src”.

Hi Moria, so the the first time I uploaded the csv it had a product count of 7000 etc but no image count. Once I changed it to image src it had an image count so I uploaded it but I still don’t have any images not sure as to why? Thanks

I suggest following the steps listed in the community post below:
