How can I resolve a CSV image upload issue on my online store?

Hello all, trying to upload a csv file from one of my suppliers to my store. The csv uploads just fine, however, the images do not upload with the products. The files, however, do in fact have product links that work. Can anyone assist me with this? (Uploading the images one by one is out of the question, over 1000 products and need my store bac opened in a timely manner). Thank you

Hi @Favgrance2023 ,

Thank you for reaching out to the Community! I’m happy to provide some assistance with using CSV files, to ensure this gets resolved. To confirm I’m fully understanding, are you receiving any errors when attempting to upload the CSV file to the Shopfy admin?

While a CSV file is a great way to add and update products in bulk, it does follow a specific format to ensure it’s successfully uploaded to the Shopify admin. I recommend checking out our Using CSV Files documentation for guidance on this, as well as a Sample CSV that can be used as a template.

To successfully include and upload images within the CSV file, you will want to ensure they are prepared. This includes confirming that all product images are available on an existing website. For more information, you can refer to our Preparing Your Images documentation as it touches on this further.

Once all images are available online, you can then add them to the existing CSV file. To achieve this, you can:

  • On the Files page, upload your images to Shopify.

  • Click the Copy link icon for one image URL at a time.

  • In the CSV file in your spreadsheet application, scroll sideways to the last columns of the CSV file.

  • In the Image Src column, paste the image URL into each line.

  • Repeat steps 2 to 4 for all the images for this product.

  • Save the CSV file and import it to Shopify.

For more information on this, you can check out our Adding Multiple Product Images To A CSV File document for additional details.

Please let me know if you have any other concerns.

Thank you for your response Blair. Attached will be the csv file I am attempting to upload. It uploads fine to tge channel, but, the images do not upload. The links to the products are in fact live kinks to a website.
