I would appreciate assistance on how to change my stores collections url from tra1t.com/collections/all to tra1t.com/inventory
Topic summary
Goal: use a cleaner URL for a collection, changing tra1t.com/collections/all to tra1t.com/inventory.
Key points:
- Platform limitation: On Shopify, the URL structure (e.g., /collections/, /pages/) cannot be changed. Modifying or removing these path segments isn’t supported.
- Attempted workaround: Creating/assigning a custom page template (page.inventory) for an “Inventory” page. The template either didn’t appear at first under the page’s theme options, and after setup the resulting URL was still tra1t.com/pages/inventory, not the desired tra1t.com/inventory.
Implications:
- A custom template or page cannot replace Shopify’s built‑in path structure. Collections will remain under /collections/, and pages under /pages/.
Status:
- No viable in-platform method provided to achieve tra1t.com/inventory for the collection. The request remains constrained by Shopify’s URL rules; no confirmed workaround or resolution in the thread.
When hosting your website on Shopify, the URL structure of your web pages cannot be altered. Shopify does not currently allow modifications to the URL structure.
For some reason the “page.inventory” theme isnt appearing under the ‘Inventory’ Page themes.
I’ve done that but it says tra1t.com/pages/inventory instead of tra1t.com/inventory
