Hi @TheSareeTop did you set this all up yourself or with a web designer?
It’s good, good example of starting with premium theme , and a simple idea that even I as a guy with no fashion sense understood the message of immediately (which is important, yet I don’t know if that will actually translate into a viable business though)
Restraint has been exercised, so the website surrounding the product isn’t heavily vying for attention that should be reserved for the actual product.
And it lets the pink callouts easily POP.
Lacking “warmth” may just be from the site being monotone and the product being black.
Isn’t the intro vid “warm”, could try reducing the effect of the video overlay slighthly, BUT watch out for making text harder to read.
Unless your burning time brand building get the social icons off the header.
Or they are the first thing people may scan and your encouraging them to leave → go to social media → get distracted → never come back.
And hide reviews for now, temporily replace with photography of item on different models maybe.
Or better if you have any user generated content, or like instagram videos etc of the product in use.
But of course just because you built it doesn’t mean anyone is buying or even know it exists.
So if you have no previous business experience, or just plain no actual business plan for the important part of getting actual getting customers part your gonna have hard time regardless of a good looking store.
Thanks massively for the feedback - and specifically what’s working as well as what can be improved.
I did build the site myself yes - but the theme I’m using (Blockshop) is so functional that it’s easy to build a good store with it.
Like the fact that you understood the idea as a guy with no fashion sense - That’s pretty cool and quite reassuring.
I think you’re right - removing the empty reviews section right now until I have some makes total sense. Or! To go grab some which yes I can totally do.
I have just set up an ad on Facebook and am sorting TikTok out too. I have an emailing list - an old one - and I’m reaching out to my personal contacts too. Im going to be setting up on tiktok shop, and other sales channels, and will bump up my SEO too via meta descriptions and alt tags. Basically every thing I can possibly do within my budget including organic PR e.g. Whatsapp, word of mouth, etc etc.
I guess I just worry that my.site is a little too ‘intellectual’ and may put buyers off even if I get them there- I think softening some of the wording will make me feel better!
Your website looks elegant and premium, great work on the visuals and layout. I understand what you mean about it feeling a bit intimidating. That usually happens when a store looks high-end but doesn’t show enough warmth or human touch.
Here are a few simple tips from my 9+ years of Shopify experience.
Add real customer or model photos wearing your sarees.
Share a short “About Us” or founder story to build connection.
Use warm and emotional product descriptions, not just technical ones.
Add trust signals near the “Add to Cart” button (like secure checkout or free returns).
Check the mobile experience — it matters most for conversions.
You’re doing great — just add a little personality and emotion, and your first sale will come soon!
By taking a look into your Store I found lot of issues but the best suggestions I can provide are listed below. The suggestions is the best Answer of why are you not getting your first order.
From my POV you should optimize the Product page. It’s the important part of the site. And though the product page sales happens. If you optimize the product page in a way that it’s look appealing for the customers then it means you are winning the customers. If you have a idea to winning the customers then it mean your store will generate sale automatically. Here are the best suggestions to generate more sales by optimizing the product page.
Use Bundles: Product Bundles is the best way to increase the conversion rate and generate more sales. There are many free apps you can consider for the Bundles. Like some are below. Like AMP Bundles.
Use UGC Videos: UGC videos is the only best way to win the trust of the customer. See how this store using the UGC videos :Paper Straight And in this way they are generating a lot of sales.
Use UPS and Stock Alert: Using the ups and the stock alert is another way to generate more sales. See image below how it looks like.
To not repeat much what others mention, it is a really nice store, theme colors, font, and images are spot on. You did a lot of things right.
I do have an issue with font size; to me, 13px is almost unreadable for the base font size. On the home page, you have big images and then tiny text you can easily scroll and not even notice. So a bit hard to make a connection with customers if they do not even read that text. The homepage is good, but you have same model on video, 2 images, a product with all thumbnails, and a large (a bit lower resolution) image at the end. Some images of the product itself, packaging, or other models, maybe, but it would be best if you could add user-generated images or, better yet, videos of your product.
Would also like to see more products, colors, and different materials than polyester.
Good luck with the sales.
And just to link to one other topic
