Domain change working ON mobile but NOT desktop

Hello,

This seems like a counter intuitive problem to have, last night I changed my domain name to https://www.felixtaylor.net/

I’m seeing the store load perfectly on my phone, and Shopify hasn’t announced any issues on the domain page

Yet I’m met with the Netlify Site Not Found (Netlify was the previous host)

Networking’s never been my forte,

Any help much appreciated,

It sounds like the DNS records for your domain may still be pointing to Netlify instead of Shopify. Here’s what you can do to fix this:

  1. Check Your DNS Settings:

    • Log in to your domain registrar (e.g., GoDaddy, Namecheap, etc.).
    • Ensure the A record points to Shopify’s IP address: 23.227.38.65.
    • Set the CNAME record for www to shops.myshopify.com.

  2. Clear Cache:

    • After updating, it may take a few hours for DNS changes to propagate. Clear your browser cache or try accessing your site from an incognito window.

  3. Verify on Shopify:

    • In your Shopify admin, go to Settings > Domains and check if the new domain is correctly connected.

Woah thank you for the quick response, I like your Apes,

  1. Check, all that seems to be in order.
  2. This was the first thing I tried since it was working on my phone
  3. As far as I can tell Shopify thinks everything is all G

I did make my theme from scratch if that has anything to do with it. Before the domain name change it was working locally and on Shopify’s test servers or whatever they’re called,

@f3lixtaylor i think theme is not have any connection to your custom theme.

While you wait RE-read the friendly manual thoroughly regardless of doing disruptive changes your business relies on you knowing the software.

Changes to your DNS settings can take up to 24 hours to take effect.> > https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/domains/managing-domains/edit-dns-settings#:~:text=Changes%20to%20your%20DNS%20settings%20can%20take%20up%20to%2024%20hours%20to%20take%20effect.

Domain changes are not instantaneous global wide nor account for local network or cache behavior per device.

It’s live now, I was just flummoxed how it was possible for it to be live on my phone 12 hours before it was live on my desktop! Thanks for the advice, !
