Hi there,

We have a client who ships to a very select few regions, however, they do a lot of draft orders for customers who are tax exempt and not in the regions they officially ship to.

We do not want these “Draft Order” only regions to be accessible to customers on the frontend, so to get around this, we have created a market for these specific regions, removed the shipping rates so they don’t show at checkout, and filtered out the ISO Code from the currency/language dropdowns.

This feels very hacky and is a bit annoying as the client now has to manually enter the shipping details on Draft Orders, and also the extra maintence of filtering out any future regions that might be added via the code.

Is there a place to add a feature request? It would be handy to be able to create markets which are “Admin only”/“Draft order only” rather than just “Active” and “Draft” for example?

Yes, your workaround makes sense but is understandably clunky. There’s currently no built-in way to create “Admin Only” or “Draft Order Only” markets in Shopify.

I have since reached out to Shopify Support and managed to get this expedited to the devs (hopefully) as I think this would be a great feature for more complex businesses - I hope they feel the same too!
